I like that he’s starting to experiment using a cutter. I think that will definitely help him be much more versatile

For the people at home if you really want a good look at the release if you go to the settings on the video you can lower the playback speed and really get a good look at it. Great vid!

Hey guys, question for you here. High School senior pitcher here, not the best at that (81-83FB) and I have minor scoliosis. I’ve been getting mixed signals from different coaches on pursuing my senior season or not, and i’d figure you guys know best. Would it be a good or a bad idea to pitch with that spinal condition?

We train a number of MLB pitchers with Scoliosis. There are a number of training considerations, but there are lots of players with scoliosis who pitch pain free. So long as there isn't pain, you should be fine to pitch with that spinal condition.

@@treadathletics Thank you, i’m definitely going forward with my season with this info. I had previously been experiencing some pain that caused me to miss about a quarter of last season, but i’ve found that was from forcing IR on my ER dominant hips. Some gradual changes in the off-season and i’ve nearly touched 85, as well as pain free. Thanks again guys!

Does a cb pair well with a sinker or 2 seam ?
@CItingCoder-gr9pu Жыл бұрын
Not necessarily per se unless if you’re good at tunneling

Depends on the shape of the CB. 12/6 may not pair well with a sinker with depth and armside run like Clay Holmes'

No expert by any means but when he throws the cutter he seems to get too much on the side of the ball. This creates gyro spin and minimal movement. I would think he need to get a bit more behind the ball to get the combination of gyro and axis for a cutter. Of course star cutter could just be a tough pitch for him to throw given his natural proclivity to arm side movement. At this point the slider looks like a better option for glove side movement.

He doesn't throw a cruveball. He throws a sweeper though!
