@ being a “hall of fame” player is slightly overrated. Not everyone makes the hall of fame. He had a great career. Was part of the reason they won the Championship. If the packers have a ring of honor or hall of fame you best believe Clay is making it in for their franchise honors, which considering how great the Packers franchise is should be good enough for people to give their acknowledgment for a great career. Great career, Nothing less. All I mean when I say Hall of fame is slightly overrated because young people think that if you aren’t in the hall then you weren’t a great player or have a great career. Clay was a problem, game wrecker, a mother fucker you hated going against. Sorta like a Teddy Bruschi for the patriots. A guy that will never make the hall of fame but absolutely you a guy that would fuck the game up if he wasn’t accounted for on every play

The AJ Hawk link finally broke for the packers that year. He has such a weirdly devout fanbase despite being mediocre to really bad against the run, though solid to good in coverage. Hawk tackled running back 6 yards past the line of scrimmage 100 times a year for a decade. Taking clay off the edge is a tough pill to swallow for a coordinator.
