Clean and Service EdenPURE Personal Quartz Infrared Heater

Cleaning and servicing an EdenPure Personal Quartz Infrared Heater, including lubricating the fan bearings and cleaning the filter. The teardown of this unit was a pleasant surprise, revealing the entire unit being encased in metal shielding and an overall high build quality. Reassembly got a bit confusing towards the end, but it certainly wasn't the worst thing I've ever worked on. The filter seemed to keep most of the dust out of the inside of the unit, and while oiling the fan is always a good measure of preventative maintenance, it didn't seem like it really needed it yet.

In the older EdenPURE heaters as well, they typically used thermal switches for fan control instead of electronic systems. These heaters often employed a simple and reliable mechanism where the thermal switch monitored the heater's temperature. When the temperature exceeded a safe level, the thermal switch would activate the fan to help cool down the unit. This design was common in many older space heaters for safety and efficiency reasons. So, in both the eating pure quartz personal heater and older Eden PUREheaters, the fan control mechanism relies on thermal switches rather than electronic components.

I have an older Gen 3. When it worked fine, the fan would cycle faster and slower on its own depending on what it was set on. Now, the fan will never run on fast mode, only on slower or medium speed. If I put the heater on max heat the fan is supposed to run on fast mode, but it won't. So, the slower fan speed, when the heater is on high will make the heater overheat and trip its internal switch to turn off the heater. It will only work and heat on a medium setting.

@@snailracer3773 can you by chance upload a video and show me the issue you don't need to talk in the video.I would like to hear it. If not you can describe the auditory sounds coming from the heater? If you're not comfortable with this you don't have to do it.

@@Butchey24 Its been too long since I have uploaded a video, so that could be a problem. But, there is no strange sounds from the heater. The fan speed only runs on slow or medium. When it did run on high speed, I could tell it was on high speed because the sound of the higher RPMs was noticeable. Now, I know it never reaches high speed.

@@Butchey24 I just did a test. The heater was on medium setting, the fan speed seemed to be on medium speed. I put it on max heat and the fan speed RPMs did increase. Did it increase to max speed? I don't know. Right now, it's 50 degrees outside so, leaving it on max is not a good for right now. When it gets cold tonight, I'll put it on max heat again and see what happens. Thanks.

These work very well. The heating elements are obtainable on the e ripoff if they ever fail. I have replaced them in 2 variants of this machine.

Is there no natural gas service in your area or something? Oil heat in 2023 sounds about as cost-effective as a heater that burns dollar bills lol
