This was a HUGE help! My fan is a slightly different model 630 vs 630B - mine doesn't have screws on the back like this one does, but I had 4 screws on the inside surrounding the motor, that let me pull the motor out far enough to get a slightly damp rag in there to get the dust out. Mine wasn't in as bad a shape as yours either, but it was bad enough - 2.5 years of not cleaning it. Once I got it cleaned out, it's pushing clean, and much cooler air again. Adding a date to my calendar to do this once a year from now on 😅

My 9 year old Vornado 630 stopping working on anything but the highest setting. Man that thing was gnarly. I imagine they build them this way to keep them alive beyond their warrantied service life. Despite a 1/4 layer of muck on the outside of the fan, the internals were still relatively clean, just a nasty bearing to replace inside. Can't knock them on the construction too much, this thing has made it through 3 moves and has been dropped/smashed/knocked countless times. I have no doubt if I reached out to them they'd probably still offer me a warranty replacement.

Hey Jordan just trying to get a general Idea I have a different Vornado fan that i took apart due to a clicking sound. there were two small black bushings on the back of the shaft one small thin plastic one and one slightly thicker metal one. The issue is I didn't memorize which order they should go in. generally would the plastic one go against the plastic on the shaft, and the metal bushing go against the ball bearing? or vice versa? in your video it looked like the plastic went against the shaft and the metal went against the bearing.
