A quick trouble shooting guide to fix a loss of suction in a DC04 Dyson.A quick guide on How I immensely improved the suction on my old upright Dyson DC04. I'm not a professional I'm just an average middle aged housewife. My old Dyson vacuum cleaner stopped sucking up the dirt. I took it apart to find out why. I was puzzled because all the tubes were clear but the filters were not. I had forgotten it even had filters to clean so here is how to do it.

hahahhaha well done thank you for watching I'm glad it worked. Pass the tip on as It can save a lot of money rather than but a new machine or pay for a service. Its easy to follow and to be honest after 7 or 8 years of having my vacuum I totally forgot about doing this. So now I have "Do the Vacuum cleaner" on my calendar every 4 months

You can wash those post motor filter pads fine in the washing machine (its the hepa ones you can't wash) , and the pre filter and cage too, along with the main hose and the little hose under the cleanerhead. They will clatter about a bit but come up like new. Pop some old towels in too so you don't waste a wash. Your supposed to clean the filters every 6 months anyway, for it to get do bad the relief valve opens (the funny noise you mentioned ) the poor girl must have had some neglect!

Yes I think a lot of people forget to do what you said I certainly did, I got mine 2nd hand and also had it for years. Now i feel sorry I neglected mine and I tell all my family to remember don't throw it out, Clean it out ha ha ha Thanks for the extra wash details I will do that today as I now clean it out on the 1st of every month to keep it happy ha ha ha

+Alison Russell craft channel they go on forever with a bit of love, and even if they do break, parts are dirt cheap! A new post filter pad is under £1.50, the bottom hose (which provides the spring to push the brushroll onto the carpet so if it's worn its well worth replacing) is under £2. Just hit up ebay and enjoy a proper dyson, none of this modern rubbish! I have full teardown guides on the Internet if you want to go full bore on it!

That "Strange" noise was the blockage valve - When the dyson cant suck through the pipes that valve kicks in to stop the motor choking

To add - Those holes in the Cyclone don't actually do anything as they are not linked to the cone. they actually are there to help the bits round the cyclone

I had this dyson until 3 weeks ago. My son dropped it down the stairs and the dust barrel broke. He got me a new one the pet small ball dyson. But its not quite the same I love this one and cant find a decent replacment.

Dyson consumes 3000 watts i have one it says 1400 watts of power but i measure with amp meter or watt meter and it says 3000 watts fake comsuption

I did not test mine some of the power is lost when the filters get clogged up. What I did fixed mine so it had better suction when cleaned out the big yellow vacuum with the tiny holes in. I do not have a meter to test mine for wattage.

Alison Russell craftmonkey You think it´s mutch amperange of current big wattage of the vacuum cleaner I have one it dosen´t work on 2000w diesel generator or 3000w generator the minium of power to POWER MY DYSON IS 4500 WATTS OF POWER But my electricity bill is 20 amperes of a switch sorry for my boring comment but dyson consumes 3000 watts ineficient motor

Not true!!! Proof please as I have loads of mates and myself who is very interested in Dyson's all have the original motor and came up as stated - 1200w and 1400w If anything either three - Your meters broked!!! GET A NEW ONE You have an Unoriginal motor in Your lying
