Digging it man! My dad ran a chain of arcades in the US back in the 80's and 90's so I have fond memories of this one. I also noticed all the Abel videos are of me getting my ass handed to me... LOL

Fun episode, but I noticed there were a couple of things you might be curious about. "Thriller" was never in the arcade version, at all. I think it's a better version than the console or PC versions, but others might disagree. It was in early versions of the Sega console game though, when special attacks are used in either Level 3 or 5 during the correct sub-levels. However, the second run of the game had the song removed entirely, and while almost nobody is entirely certain as to why, it's believed that this was because Michael Jackson did not write the song and the actual writer requested/ordered it to be removed unless he was paid a significant sum of money. Either way, I love watching these! Hope to see more in the future.

I hate tie-in games, especially the ones that are like routine platformers/beat-em-ups/shoot-em-ups, just reskinned to fit the property or cash in on celebrity. I have to give the Moonwalker games a pass, however, for their biographical thoroughness. The directed energy powers, his inability to say complete words, the battle-dancing, the sudden embarrassing robotic transformations, the mysterious Michael clones, the extra lives he purchased with quarters, the Joe Pesci. No detail of the controversial pop-star's life was spared with this duology of games, this shining peak of Sega's many historically accurate musician simulators.
