EWL is my choice too. Use it to clean also. It is a great cleaner. EWL recommends cleaning with it also. Clean up is a breeze. Use a small paint brush when oiling so you do not have any run off. I use the EWL oil on my Sig TacOps and have had no issues. I've gotten away from using grease because it really collects dirt and debris. The EWL oil is full synthetic and does not attract dirt. EWL is awesome, the important thing is to use it as your cleaner too

Many years ago shooting in Steel Challenge matches using grease on rails caused failures to feed in damp 50 degree temperatures. I use CLP mostly but if shooting matches I use synthetic motor oil on the rails. No complaints from me.

I use CLP for my cleaning and frog lube for shooting and storing, though the storing thing doesn't really happen for months at a time.

I used to use Frog Lube.While had no issues with it, i wanted to try something different.Now i use M-Pro-7 cleaner and the LPX oil and they work very well.I recently picked up a bottle of EWL , but have gotten a chance to try it out yet.I hear very good things, so i'm looking forward to testing it out this weekend.

Did you and up trying the EWL? It's my favorite. I also use the EWL 30 and EWG during summer.

I use LPS HEAVY-DUTY it works great, it's a grease that I have used on my DI AR15 for years, no issues and keeps the bolt wet. cleaning I use a ultrasonic with simple green pro (safe for all metals & aluminum)

Do you known FLUNA-TEC, I use it on my Glock 19, and I am very happy! Takes time to prepare your gun, but then it works very well!

EWG and a paint brush thin coating it basically is ewl that won't move. No need to goop it on

That's a good idea. I have most of the Slip products. I ended up switching to the EWL 30 to have an in between for the EWL and EWG.

I want that Daniel Defense sign and that 2A sign that looks like a scroll to put in my gun room/training classroom. Where'd you get them from?

7:08 100% the wrong way to think about this. When you were shooting, and after the fact when you were gone checking the condition, were the guns still slick or did they feel gritty? I use Slip2000 EWG and no matter how dirty it looks, when I eack the bolt/slide, slowly or quickly, it feels smooth. No grit. No grime. No "stages". No issues. Even when i ride the bolt/slide to try and induce the gun being out of battery, there are no issues.

I use a 50/50 mix of Hoppe’s #9 and Kroil for bores (Hoppe’s copper solvent and Kroil for rifles that might have more copper fouling) and lube moving parts and wipe guns down with Ballistol. They’re always squeaky clean, they never rust, and the actions are all slick as glass. I also have 85W Nano-oil, and while I’ve occasionally used it for firearms lubrication, it’s mostly used for folding knife pivots and pliers joints, that sort of thing. That’s what works for me, but it might not for everyone. I almost never fire more than 50 or 100 rounds through any one firearm at a time, and I field-strip and clean all my guns EVERY time they fire even one round. KEEPING them clean has always seemed easier to me than GETTING them clean.

The problem is that stuff is terrible for your health and doesn't offer any benefit over slip 2000.
@The_sinner_Jim_Whitney2 жыл бұрын
@@tofan2622 Eh, people have used it religiously for 100 years, it’d be common knowledge if it was ‘terrible for your health’, and it offers a tremendous advantage over Slip 2000 in terms of corrosion resistance for stored firearms. Yeah, yeah, you’re SUPPOSED to lube them now and again while stored, but you’re also SUPPOSED to obey speed limits…

@@The_sinner_Jim_Whitney We also have the highest cancer rate in the world, it's not just a coincidence. I am not criticizing you, I understand what you are saying. I used SLIP 2000 in AFG, other lubes and greases just did not stand up. Your mixture sounds nice though.

@@tofan2622 We also have far and away the most lax food and supplement regulations and obesity rates in the world, and I simply won’t accept any other explanation for our cancer situation, haha! Break CLP is the best rust protector and the best for cleaning. Not much versatility hough. The Ballistol is the opposite, it's liek a multitool, it performs ok on many jobs and does a ton of them, however it doesn't perform as good, as specialized stuff, as the Break CLP Finally, the WD40, that most people use for siimilar jobs. That's the most improperly used of them all. It's mostly a solution and not a lubricant, neither a great cleaner as the CLP is. It's also no very versatile as Break CLP also is, but it does decent job at helping remove rust and protects ok from moisture. That's why you could use to loosen a rusty bolt, but never use it, on locks, or anywhere else, where small parts can be damaged, cause it can eventually damage a lock. Just keep that example.

Use less grease and you wont have any problems. Grease is just oil in a solid form.

Your using too much . "oil pooling up " , "dirt in the grease" . Don't use so much . I use slip 2000 oil and grease . I don't have your issues .

Yeah way to much grease if its causing failures. All you need is a dab like the size of a small booger lol.
@dingo52085 жыл бұрын
Eh, all voodoo. Use a cleaner for cleaning not oil, so hoppes for cleaning CLP for oiling. An oil for oiling, use your favourite clp, lucas whatever. And grease for areas that your manufacturer recommends grease. I use bearing grease, some others use lucas, milcomm whatever. None of those "all in ones" are good for all jobs. When people say don't overoil as they pour clp all over their gun and then wipe it off they are oiling the gun. Clean means no oil, clp leaves a film of oil all over the old film of oil. After 20 years in the military I know all about clp and don't use it.
