No discussion on software changes. I believe the infotainment hardware has been upgraded. The driver display has changed. Maps and Nav are now integrated. A button to open the charge port is now included inside. SiriusXM 360L has been added. Wireless Carplay and Android Auto. Rear wiper (thank G-d) finally added, especially for those of us in crummy climates. Many positive changes. This video just scratches the surface.

Pretty sure he never mentioned the rear wiper, but I appreciated the side buy side pictures. This is the most impressive refresh I know of since it gives a solid pump to the battery and address all of the things people complained about. I wish the new colors were not all matte paint but I’m happy with Lucid blue.

I got a smoking deal on a 24 I5. Call it what you like, it has enough cargo capacity behind the second row seats to accommodate my mothers wheelchair. My Subaru Outback had about the same capacity.

Jon, loved the side by side comparisons. In my mind the most important thing about this 2025 mid-cycle refresh is the inclusion of FULL OTA (over the air) updates. I won't even consider buying an electric car without them. Software Defined Vehicles are the future, and the future is now.

How often will Hyundai be sending out updates - once or twice a year as opposed to almost weekly updates on the Model Y?

We had our 2023 Limited AWD into the dealer this afternoon for yet another recall.... ICCU as well as limp home updates...... While there talked with our sales guy that we've bought 2 Hyundai's from over the past 5 years. With NO commitment, he's ordered a 2025 Limited AWD for us in Blue with the light Gray interior. As it will be March or so, we haven't talked $$$ yet. I told him it's going to be all about the numbers, as well as seeing what the President has done to the $7500 incentive ( although battery still wouldn't qualify), and potential Lease deals. So, with NO money out of pocket today, and NO commitment, we MAY be swapping out for the 2025 Limited AWD in the next few months..... we'll see. I'm most interested in the NACS charging connector, REAR WIPER, larger battery, and ability for OTA software updates I hear is capable. I like the exterior and interior updates. Not sure if I will have to get an adaptor to use our existing L2 home charger, or if they provide an adaptor with the car. Love this car as is, so if we can't make the $$$ work, then nothing lost but a little time.

Hey Jon, you made a bit mistake on your table at time = 1:30 min. The I5N perform 0-100 km/h in 3.25 s, but 100 km/h is rather 62 mph than 162 mph !!!! I've also heard that the big battery cooling liquid replacement is now required every 6 years instead of every 3 years on the 2024 version. A job over 600$ !!!!

The 2025 updates are worth waiting for. I'm located in MN and the charging infrastructure is lacking, except for Tesla. Also, if I travel to St. Louis, MO to visit my son, Tesla has chargers all along the route. It would take me longer in a CCS car because some of the chargers on the route are only 50kwh. Great overview of the differences between the two model years. My guess that the 2024 models will be heavily discounted once the 2025 models are available.

I had a 2023 Ioniq 5 Limited unfortunately it had issues with DC charging, (I think that was a one of) so this is exciting to see the longer range, the more functional OTA Software ability and the NACS port, although not sure they have addressed the low charge rates at enabled Tesla Version 3's, still routing for Hyundai as my 2020 Kia Soul EV (Canada) is still going strong with almost 110,000KM and no issues yet.

Mostly positive changes - but with the NACS capability coming in 2025 to the CCS equipped vehicles via an adapter, I don't know that it's such a big win. And the loss of EA free charging for 2025 models is a major cost increase for folks who could otherwise us EA (despite its seriously lacking experience). Aesthetically speaking I think I prefer the 2024 rear end, except for the lack of wiper which is a bonus for 2025. Also, from your video it appears the instrument cluster is reconfigured to with improved placement of current speed.

Hey Jon, I am curious why you didn't cover the most important updates in the video since you made a comparison between them. Showing some minor design differences doesn't do justice to the upgrades. 1. The addition of matrix headlights. A big issue with driving at night on winding roads. 2. The addition of anti-vibration suspension, not really adaptive, only for the N model. 3. The addition of an N-line option that gets the exterior design from the N model and some interior sporty additions without the extra power and lower ground clearance. 4. And of course the rear wiper, better battery cooling and management. I am really not sure what is the purpose of this video. With just a 30 min check online you can find out all the features I added above and I think they should have been included 🤷♂️ Also recomending matte paint... I am not sure about that. I have mine wrapped because if you damage it even a bit you need to repaint the whole element.

When you actually see a I5 in real life you realize labeling this as a SUV is a head scratcher. It is just a hatchback car. It looks great, but calling it a SUV is a stretch. The eGMP vehicles charge like a beast on chargers capable of delivering the juice. Efficiency is poor however and real world range isn't great. All that said Hyundai is doing a great job managing the lifecycle and refresh. It is apparent they are really working hard to make their EV's better. At the same time it appears clear they are cutting costs. TBD on how will the NACS equipped car will charge on Tesla SC's. The 2024 still doesn't charge well at all on SC's. Overall Hyundai/Kia are stepping up. Hope the next generation vehicle does a better job of packaging so that there is a better use of space. These cars should have a decent frunk, and better space in the back. I would love to see this car stretched into a wagon.

"Gamifying" ANY vehicle is a recipe for disaster. What are these companies thinking?!? We don't have enough boy racers on the road putting us ALL in danger? The vast majority of buyers of these EV supercars will be using the public streets as their "track"! Also, the proliferation of matte paint finishes are a P.I.T.A. to care for.

The NACS port is a yawn for me. I have a level 2 charger at home so I don't need any public charging. IMHO you have to be NUTS to have an EV without home charging.

That fact that its still open to the floor between the frontseats is the only thing keeping me from buying it. Cant stand that it looks like a craftsmans wagon interior. Its too bad cause it looks awesome from the outside. But no EV has nailed the interior yet. They are too "futuristic and pretencious" looking.

That’s only the Ioniq 5 N and you can turn it off if your don’t want it or just buy the regular one. Beyond the noises the N has significant upgrades to make it better at the track. Not my cup of tea as I’d never use that level of capability but people who want that sort of thing seem to love it. You can have a quiet mild mannered hatch when you want and a track car when you want.

huge creatue comfort changes in this 2025 model year. It's going to be behind the model y for range and popularity, but I have a feeling market share for the ioniq5 might increase due to this vehicle NACS support and (for me) the black interior trim pieces, physical buttons for ventilated/heated seats, movable island for ultra comfort in the front drivers seat. What I'm going to miss is the damn sentry mode that is available in Korea on this car but not the US
@DAReeseDroid3 ай бұрын
The range is fine for most. I've been in both vehicles. The Ioniq 5 rides much nicer with no rattles. The Y sounds cheap. Hopefully the Juniper model will fix that. But there's still the one screen that buries everything under layers of menus. Give my physical switches that are always there.
