I am pleased you showed this last video on this car. It shows the hard work you two do to make a vehicle presentable. As a former upholsterer I do agree that it would be easy enough for a trimmer to replace that section of the roof, the rest if it seems to have cleaned up well so coulor should match OK. If I was the person buying the car I would just buy a seat cover, its easier for the user to replace or simply take the new cover to the trimmer when having the roof done if you are not confident doing it yourself. Thanks for the video Rob and Chris we look forward to seeing the next one.👍

Those windows have come up sparkling and have really lifted the appearance of the car. You're right about doing the interior side too. Back in the day - when I knew no better - I used T-Cut to clean interior glass. That G101 is brilliant. Fantastic video Gents.

Hi Rob - I think the difficulty with jet washing upholstery is that the jet can push the dirt into the foam, unless you angle it well, as you're doing. I use a dehumidifer to dry the car inside, it's a lot cheaper & more effective than heaters. Cracking video, as always!

Definitely worth doing that last clean up video guys, unbelievable how good the seats turned out!! It's a nice little driving project for someone to finish off now all the hard works done 👍 spot on!
@philtucker12243 жыл бұрын
Rob, I’ve had an idea that might save you getting into trouble with the misses when you are drying seats: (using the bare metal rear area of an old van shell) on the side of your yard, make it into a “large metal box with doors” and then cut a hole in the lower part of the cab-end bulkhead, big enough to take a garage heater jet blower and cut grille outlets the other end roof for the hot air to go out. You can then put your wet seats in there and they should dry in just a few hours. Best regards from an old Thanet boy.

Hi Chris and Rob, yeah that's a sore one, not just the front but the other damage not listed and no keys? I've read through coparts question and answers as such, there is a section for you to claim back if cars not as listed or there is other danage/lost keys....I'd look into it especially if u have original pic of car as they listed it? What a project....Ive been a tech for 38 years and still enjoy working on cars, I worked in a body shop and always enjoyed seeing my colleagues bringing cars back to life, therefore I as most of us will enjoy watch Chris work his magic once more..... In van u were a big down but finished video on such a high....let's get this engine running and then out.....let's push on guys......superb

Great job on cleaning the Golf Rob, it looks so much better after all your efforts. The new owner has the nice bits to do now to finish it off - paintwork, repair to the hood and the interior and I'd go for new wheels too. Sure it won't take long to sell.

Thanks for the valet of the Volkswagen, the g101 is the miracle cure for those seats, jetwashing is the quickest way to eliminate the deep soiling. A good motor trimmer would salvage that whole side as outlined. Eventually the next owner would need to investigate a solution for the passenger door corrosion, however as is / where is, is just fine. Thanks for sharing, thumbs up to g101. 😁😄👌👍

This is the exact kind of car you want. It’s not so pristine that you are scared to drive it for fun and keep it locked away from the world. It’s beautiful but just the right amount of used that you can genuinely live in it and enjoy it for what it was made for.

I clean my seats etc same way Rob I’m addicted, no changing now, I dry them with a cheapo Chinese diesel heater running on red through a 230 to 12 v converter, outside sometimes, mate of mine convinced me and it works. I haven’t found any videos boring or uninteresting since the start of this KZbin channel. The cleaning techniques are very useful in that the car is 1M% cleaner that before. Try closing the doors with the wet seats inside and put a mains dehumidifier on the floor behind the drivers seat. I my (limited) experience it will suck all the moisture out with no issues and the humidistat will tell you how dry it is inside.
