Needs 2 get up really early & do it then, with a grabber, not a spike. The whole spike thing is retarded. Those should B banned = DUM! Almost as dum as a battery powered bike, like U can't go like 20 miles with zero effort on a bike? LOL!! Even walking 5 or so is no big deal, & U don't have 2 worry about wrecking, just cars, which R even MORE dangerous on a bike, as U have less time & options 2 get out of the way. On foot U can just run off 2 the side without worrying about falling into your face.

Making Texas better, one beer can at a time - well done Louis. Great job 👍 If you want to keep going I’d recommend getting yourself a good litter-picking grabber as they save you from bending down or touching sharp edges. They can also help reach stuff in bushes. Now I’ve never tried litter picking with a bike but always imagined I’d need a trailer to avoid ripping the bottom out of the bags ... but you must be a better rider than me 😀👍

Unknowingly I started caring less about the outcome if whatever I am doing the older I get. And it has helped me in a BIG way. Going on dates I would always try too hard to make someone like me. Learning a new skill I would tell myself that I should learn the guitar so I could show it to my friends. Both of those approaches absolutely didn't help me. Now I just try to have fun and do things on my own pace. And it has already led me go down some interesting paths! One of them being: Learning a lot more about Linux. I used to tell myself that I SHOULD learn more about Linux TODAY and SHOULD do this or that. No, screw that. I just learned it at my pace, when I wanted and didn't give myself any deadlines that would make me give up otherwise. Much better!

This mindset is useful for when you want to repair an E-bike. I need to take those steps and walk myself back through what I need to know to figure out why one of my E-bike's hall sensors is not working, and if there are working sensors I can replace it with or is it fully proprietary in design? I will need to understand how they work and get to the right decision. I think taking a LEVA class might help with this as well. What is propelling me into this mindset is my roommate owns a RV rental business, and I feel like E-bike add-ons would help compliment the business, which would require me to repair the bikes as they are used by strangers or otherwise pay a steep cost for E-bike repair. Just saying all this all seems exciting. Also, it's getting cooler and darker earlier now. Be careful out there doing these runs.

I like to hike around Stockholm. It's stunningly beautiful and I need the exercise. I once had a car trying to run me over on a sidewalk next to an off ramp from a Swedish county road ("länsväg": 70 km/h). They were going way fast, and they took the turn way wide so I had to jump a barrier to avoid getting crushed. Teachable moment. Since then, I always assume every driver is a drunk driver. Or texting. That attitude has served me well. Then there's the effing bikes you sometimes have to share the sidewalk with. One foot in their lane and they instantly scream at you. Like bro, I need to cross your lane here... And then there's the effing e-bikes who go like 45 km/h centimeters beside you. And the insane gig economy delivery e-trucks you share the same 1.5 meter strip of sidewalk with. Driven by non unionized minimum wage migrant workers who just don't give a single f. Cherry on top we have Stockholm Stad (the county basically) randomly shutting down bottleneck sidewalks when they need to do maintenance or construction. For a day, a week, several months. Maybe the contractor went belly up and they need to find another one, who can really tell? Anyways, congratulations, you now need to take a 1 km detour here for the indefinite future, because we prioritize cars in "the most sustainable city in the world" (actual motto). You can never trust Google Maps to guide you to where you want to go. I still love hiking around Stockholm. It's just lovely.

Very interesting video, Louis, about the evolution of your career, your YT channel and you as a person that is "making a difference". As a jazz aficionado, I am familiar w Michael Carvin the drummer. He used to record and perform w some of the best jazz musicians around. I havent heard of him recording or performing live in a long time, at least not nationally. Interesting to hear that he positively influenced your life in a non-musical way. Re: cycling, for me the pedestrians generally are worse than the cars. The cars will look out for you, as long as they can see you. Many pedestrians act like they think they own the bike paths and sidewalks and that you shouldnt be on them. The problem w cycling on roads is that quite often, as was mostly the case in this video, there are no shoulders or they're unpaved so you have to cycle in the car lanes and get much closer to cars than you are comfortable with. This is one of the sad realities of living in a car-centric country.

I love the litter cleanup videos, but I really worry about you riding your bike at night on those two lane roads. It's really not safe. :) You're wrong about dogs, Louis. They're the most noble creature on the planet. They give unconditional love. Any problem with a dog is a reflection of yourself, not the dog. I'm a crazy cat lady, but once you've had the ultimate loyalty of a good dog, you'll never find any equal. Cats rule because they don't GAF, but all the f's they don't have, dog's do have. Trust me, you need cats, fish, dogs, birds, and anything else the DNR won't arrest you for. ;)

I disagree that doing things slowly works because you don't care about the outcome. Maybe that works for some but for me, if I don't care about something, I'm not going to waste my time. One of parkour instructors would say "slow is smooth, smooth is fast" (he stole it from someone else lol) Doing things slowly allows you to focus on it, pay more attention, make less mistakes & notice mistakes. If you rush, that's when you truly don't care about the outcome because you're not going to notice mistakes or care if you do.

But I have to say: In organized places (like China) you have basically an army of people doing that job cleaning streets with proper salary, stability, safety and equipment. Today, we everybody live in societies with DIVISION OF WORK. That is both more efficient and more fair to the workers. It's sad when we waste this progress. I love the do-yourself culture, but frequently companies and government try to use this an excuse to abandon their tasks. When I can, I actively avoid self-service things, specially when the professionals obviously can do that more efficiently.
