I use restaurant cleaning supplies for my first heavy cleaning when I clean out a house or apartment. Food safe cleaners are usually green, and very low toxic too. When you have done the heavy work you can move to light cleaners for regular use.

I loved this video. It's so true that you don't need a huge amount of products to clean your home. One thing I have noticed is these type of recipes always tell you to use a lot of dish soap, when I feel a little goes a long way, and you don't need to put much dish soap to make a great cleaner. Vinegar and baking soda are awesome multipurpose cleaners and they're non-toxic too. I would recommed the scrub mommy sponge because it doesn't stink and it works so great, I would also recommend a universal stone for cleaning, it's so versatile and works amazingly. The spin mop is also amazing, so many things this video got right

As a single Man, I try to keep my place as clean as possible, but it can get overwhelming sometimes. My microwave was really dirty, and I didn't know of an easy way to clean it. Lucky me, I have a large container full of white vinegar from when my Mother helped me clean my place earlier this year. Thanks Mom! I followed your advice on steam cleaning a microwave, and it worked perfectly! I also used the dish liquid + water to clean my counter tops. Thank you for posting videos :)

I recommend vacuuming well, this helps remove dust from the atmosphere and not re-settle. If your home is really dusty, vacuum first, then clean, then vacuum again. Then on a regular basis, clean and then vacuum.

Hi Lisa, hmm, check your 'Home Hardware' type store, or Wal Mart. Further, apparently 'agricultural vinegar' is the same, so if you go to a garden centre you may be able to find it there. It's not a really high demand product so I suppose that would be why.

You can actually even leave out the rubbing alcohol cause vinegar is a natural disinfectant and is also safe to use on surfaces where food is placed without having to be rinsed off

One part vinegar and one part water in a squirt bottle. Open up the windows, wash fabrics like curtains, sheets, towels, blankets and dirty clothes (they absorb smell over time) and lightly spray the mist onto fabrics that can't be washed (and a little into the air). The vinegar smell will go away as it dries and the open windows can speed up that process. It's a cheaper version of febreeze!

To the person wondering about a vacuum to use in an uncarpeted apartment: I fix vacuums in a vacuum store, and I believe the best thing is a plug-in canister vac you can tote around or pull behind you. Some you can push like an upright. Don't buy battery operated vacuums that don't have replaceable batteries, because when the battery dies (and it will within a relatively short amount of time) you are SOL. Be aware the motors in those can be useless, as well, and aren't worth fixing if they break.

I know another handy cleaning tool, which might be weird, is a tube of Crest Whitening Baking soda & Peroxide toothpaste. I have a lot of wood furniture and I learned a few years back this trick. If you accidentally get rubbing alcohol on the wood and that white spot starts to form, use a wet paper towel and put some toothpaste on the white spot and rub it off. I follow up with a little olive oil and Im all done.

Do you vacuum? If you notice dust re-settling that fast, you need to remove the dust from the atmosphere in your home, and vacuuming is the only real way to do this. Other ideas are to have your ducts cleaned.

Hmm, I think I saw an insole cleaner at Aldo, it's like a roll on deodorant stick but for your shoe. Also, can you remove that insole and replace with a new one? If you leave the shoes out in sunlight it should help kill odour causing bacteria too.
