I always have a travel size hand-sanitizer container that I've refilled with scentless, high alcohol content (90%) hand-sanitizer clipped on to my shoulder strap. It serves quadruple duty: - I use it for cleaning my hands (not a germophobe but I'll wash them if they've filtering mucky water and I want to eat something without a wrapper) - can use it for cleaning wounds - it's fantastic for getting sap off hands, and equipment (like tree straps) - it's a decent fire starter, taking the place of, or suplementing kindling (it does have some water content that steals some heat but it still works)

I learned this from an old-time logger: if you get tree resin on your hands, and it won't wash off; try running your hands through your hair. One of them $30-35 steam cleaners from Walmart may workout well for sap to. Haven’t tried myself. But I do use it for some other stuff. Maybe spray it some with the steam get it soft. Wipe it with a rag. Hit it again with the steam wipe a repeat. An anything left deep in he’ll rub some corn starch on it. But I’m sure some good steam can melt that old sap from better the fibers Like he said rubbing alcohol. Goof-off Another an I’m not sure if goof off contains any. But N-Heptane also. I’m sure not many just has that on hand. But in my search of sticker glue removers led me to that. Can be head online. But found the heptane will loosen/remove some glues that alcohol wouldn’t do much for. Also evaporates and don’t really leave anything behind like the goof-off would. But ild be willing to bet. One of them cheap hand held steamer spray cleaning things from Walmart would melt sap right off. If I had something with some sap on it ild have to report back. Least would be a chemical free way for those it mattered for
