The most vital part of an amplifier is the transformer. And you got there a huge toroidal transformer. And nichicon caps are a standar in all japan amps and speakers from there. If you open a sansui you are going to see nichicon, elna, rubycon and stuff like that. And they are not as good as you think. I recently changed the nichicon caps that were in the crossover of a Diatone speaker I have, and I replace them with those huge expensive Jantzen superior Z caps, and the speakers sound increadable now. I can't believe how much I was missing with those caps. So every single part count, but those are the caps they put because they price&sound friendly.

be aware of loose caps and screws with that vacuum cleaner😂

Yes those transistors look like fet's those look like they are made by Toshiba there very reliable but they could be made by NeC also not sure I'd have to look up the spec's and there pretty powerful also..the advanced acoustics you had are a baby compared to that power house..that NaD is basically exactly built like a Dj amplifier or a band Amp there very strong..I've never had a NaD and can't say how they hold up but by the looks of it..it should hold up a long time..but...I would definitely add fans in it to keep it cool..heat is the worst factor for an amp that size because the hotter it gits the less the power caps will last i would also change the power caps to 105c..

Good job just think of it that it is just doing preventive maintenance..

Andrew what are you doing man your bending a lot of parts in there you cannot bend parts you will break them off just spray the boards down with board clean and just blow it off with compressed air and never use a brush like that or that hose go back over some of the components you bent over and straighten them up easily..

Yes, the white resistors near the transistors on the left side are bent by the vacuum cleaner, see the before and after. Lucky it is still working and nothing broke off. The brush is fine.

@@RoderikvanReekum yah roder thoes are called load Resistors there like a fuse also for the output transistors those can run warm under a heavy load if it gits to loaded down it will open up like a fuse.. usually when an output transistor blows..it takes those out with it..I do a lot of repair work so I know every part In there...that amp is built nice but it needs a set of fans badly on each side the amp..

My 2019 Rotel RB 1582MKII will serve me well. It has a damping factor of 800 and weighs 20kg but is just a traditional 2 channel amplifier of 200W/channel into 8 ohms but it will easily drive 4 ohm loads if required. I paid AU$2,200.00 new from Rotel Australia and the toroidal alone weighs 9kg. Enjoy your NAD!@@vintagestereo
