Lightbulb moment- When repotting a plant, I have never thought to place the plastic pot inside the soil of the new container to make an impression! You probably didn’t even know you were giving us more tips! Love the styled cabinet and of course your sweet baby girl who is growing so fast! Have a wonderful day!❄️

You really spruced-up the inside of that cabinet - so beautiful and functional now! I think it is a radio cabinet - the speaker would be inside, probably covered by fabric; the doors would remain open when in use. Obviously a previous owner rigged the inside to suit their needs. The drawers look like drawers from an old sewing machine cabinet. Thank you for sharing. I really enjoyed it.

> Cabinet - Well done! I agree with Julie - 2 more baskets inside the cabinet. But... the Basket of mittens > 'inside' < the cabinet will never work. lol. (unless those are extra mits) Opening up that little cabinet is too much work, every time you/they come in the house. I tried the same thing with a cabinet. But more baskets would come in handy...a few Tall round pretty wicker baskets ...down the stairs? or by the coat hook? The children taking off their hats and mits and throwing them in a basket near the coat-hook. One for hats / for mits / scarfs and one for other 'stuff.' Maybe a Darker wicker to match the stairs and blend in. I have a Set of Tall/Round (3 different sizes 25"/20"/15" ) tallest about 2 feet tall that sit on the floor in my foyer. They work perfect for all kinds of winter and outdoor 'stuff' that accumulates by the door. (when you don't have a mud room) > Large square / rectangle deep basket may 'fit' better, if you want to put them on your stairs next to the coat hook. Kids are in the house, you are not going to be able to 'hide' all their things....and why should you.....? Daffodils are lovely. Aesthetically, I think Terra-Cotta Pots are the ugliest of all the 'pots' you can have in the house. It's mostly the Color. I am not fond of Orange. ( and Laura has access to so many beautiful pots ) The Orange color doesn't 'match' anything in the house. (okay outdoors) They can become moldy and usually discolor.

Do you all have brown recluses there? We moved once and had to put a bunch of stuff into storage for 7 months. When we brought it to our new house, the movers started noticing spiders. One of them got up close and said, "It's a brown recluse!" I thought they were overreacting because they were young but I walked over and nope, sure enough, it was a brown recluse. We ended up finding several more as they continued brining furniture in so we then had to stop, leave everything out on the lawn, and start wearing gloves and going over them with a fine-toothed comb and vacuum. It was so stressful, scary, and time consuming! Shew! Only one of them ended up making it inside the house (to our knowledge - eep). We found it tucked carefully away in a packing blanket that was protecting a TV. Seeing the bottom of that piece clearly triggered some memories for me, haha! Glad you didn't get a surprise!

The cabinet turned out so nice and functional! And I, too, noticed how ingenious it is to use the plastic pot to form the well in the potting soil to mold a perfect fit for the plant’s root ball when replanting it. ( I seem to recall you giving this tip in the past) I’m kind of surprised to see you still top dressing with moss after voicing your suspicions that it may be the source of the fungus gnats. I believe that is an old radio cabinet from around the 1920s-1930s. Someone re-purposed it along the way. The radio would have been entirely built in and front facing with the speaker when you opened the doors. There was no back so that one could easily make repairs to the electronics. The interior drawers, shelves and bottom are not original to the cabinet. I would also believe that the legs where shortened as that type of cabinet would have stood taller on turned/carved legs. It's fantastic that you have found such a treasure from the past and it now gets to reside in a loving home. ❤

I love the daffodils. They were my Dad's favorite flower. As a matter of fact they were the only flowers in the front yard and only roses in the back yard. My parents were not big on landscaping. My mom was hardly ever outside..have to save that fair skin haha. But my Mom did plant a Magnolia tree in the backyard and (what we called) a China berry tree in the front yard. The two messiest trees in the south possibly. And of course we had the old sweet gum tree and mimosa tree also. Plenty if raking for us kids 🤣.

I agree it is a radio cabinet. The style is from the 1920's - 1930's and no tv then! Radios were an expensive purchase for most families, and they would try to reuse the cabinet for other needs after they could no longer get parts and tubes to fix it. Now it is on another retro fit to suit your needs. Love it!

I was just hopping that Laura would find some sort of an old treasure map hidden underneath the antique cupboard. The daffidels made the sitting room more cozy and a reminder of nearby spring season, great idea and well potted. As for that liitle angle we really much appreciated those flying kisses, so cute is Samantha Grace. ❤🙂🙂⚘⚘

You made those two projects look so easy! Must be your "can-do" attitude. Both look great! As others have mentioned, Samantha Grace will make good use of that cabinet & all the goodies inside.

Daffodils are lovely. Reminded me we had flats of these at services when my Dad passed that we gave to his neighbors. Ten years later they continue to brighten many gardens in the little village in which he was born and lived for nearly 90 years . Thank you for you and your team's great work.

I am glad someone, somewhere is thinking Spring. We are in the dead of winter here in Canada. Love the lightbulb moment too! Who knew you could use the old pot to make an impression. I love watching you plant. I get so many tips along the way. Thanks for sharing.

I think your cabinet may have been a sewing cabinet. That's what it looks like to me. Someone just repurposed it. It came out really nice. What a bonus that your basket fits!

That is an adorable little cabinet. I think those might be considered an embroidery or handwork cabinet. It has the sewing machine drawers on the left side. It turned out so cute! Love those lights and hope they'll decide to all turn on when the cabinet opens. How clever.

Laughed at comment about putting plant container into potting soil for right depth, it was my exact reaction. Also laughed when your toddler came into the room & headed towards the coffee table. My kids would have wiped the stuff off there in no time. I look back now and remember those challenges as joys ❤
