FIrst of all, I have to give a HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who have come out to any of these events, you guys have made a massive difference for our forests and the progress is really starting to show!
Second, would be to thank the businesses who are supporting PLSBEND.ORG and helping fund this operation. The title sponsor of this event was @PahlischHomesBend and their contribution will help far beyond just this one event.
Other sponsors include:

And quite a few others that I'm sure I'm forgetting!

Here where i live at they dont charge when its from clean ups since we have so many vacant and abandoned properties people fill the yards with illegal dumping of everything you can think of but if we show pics of the property we removed it from they dont charge us works out great

The trash on the ground? Or the trash that left it? There was a small camp of homeless folks in the park behind our community center. They were respectful and actually cleaned up the park, so not all homeless are trash, but anyone making a mess like that certainly is.

We have similar people who live "off grid" because they can't afford better ... but otherwise have regular jobs, etc as you described. By and large, they have a huge amount of pride, and are more akin to stewards of the forest than users and abusers dumping garbage like the shitty landscapers etc.. Thanks for doing what you do .. Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦

It's not just where you live, but it's everywhere. We are fighting it over here in Wilmington, Ohio. The free-range people are the ones leaving open needles and unopened food that they get from our food bank. Love what you're doing with the PLS . Keep up the great work, and as always, be safe in your adventures. A friend from Ohio.

Good morning Casey in my opinion you guys running out of trash to pick up truly shows the impactful difference you all are making and I guarantee all the work that goes into it behind the scenes is worth it. I agree with you that all we see is the negative stuff like the trash left behind and assume it is from the homeless people. We dont see the positive like the people who live there and do there part to keep things clean. As a proud subscriber of this channel I want to thank all of you. There is a saying that is very true. Team work makes the dream work. That is a true statement because you all along with volunteers work together as a team to keep the dream of public land open to the public

Used to work as a Park Ranger and currently work as a Homeless Liason Officer for a city. There definitely are people who use the land and trash it and ruin it for everyone, unfortunately. The vast majority of the people who visit and use the land are good people but due to a few bad apples the areas can be closed to public access for large periods of time, if not permanently. Thank you for what you do. Where I work we have groups like you and they are nothing but spectacular caring people to be around and work with.

People, in general, are at fault in one way or another. I hate when I see folk assuming that public land is a dumping ground. I camp a lot, and when I leave my camp site, I absolutely make sure I leave it at least as good as when I arrived. But what you and this crew of volunteers do is above and beyond, and the best example of not only protecting our resources, but by being an example of what being human is all about. Thank you, Casey and crew!!

Casey, I love you for your work on these clean ups but more for your balanced and sane take on the problems. We've come a long way since Lord Baden Powell (founder of scouting) said, "When you break up your camp, leave nothing but your thanks and a good name." That working people have to camp in the woods because even a crap apartment is too expensive or downright unavailable is a problem, and as you said, these are probably the people taking care of things and keeping it tidy. The other part of the homeless are those who have major drug and psych problems (which comes first doesn't matter, they seem to comingle) and are completely unable to take care of themselves or their surroundings. It's not just out in the woods. Where I live in southern BC the urban homeless, and I'm talking about the tweakers, are everywhere with their multiple shopping carts and garbage everywhere. A couple of weeks ago I drove down a street in a semi-industrial area and one guy had an encampment built in the middle of the frickin road, complete with random garbage (old stroller, a ski, an ancient CRT TV and other dross) scattered around. I feel for these people because they are not in their right minds, but just listen to the outcry when the city hauls their crap away. I don't know how we got here and for certain don't have any answers. It's frustrating that a small number of people are so f'd up that they literally trash everywhere they go.
