We’re cleaning up abandoned homeless camps and todays project is to remove a large camper from the site so that the trash crews can come in and clean the site. Unfortunately we didn’t have law enforcement approval to remove the vehicle that was there, so we had to leave it behind, but it may or may not be in a slightly different spot…. 🤷🏻♂️

When I worked for the USFS in Montana I often found people living in my forest. Feeling bad for them I often struck a deal with them. I told them I wouldn't cite them and throw them out if they kept the area where they were living pristine and I didn't get any complaints. Surprisingly, about 75% of them took the deal and they eventually moved on leaving the area nice. The rest were just filthy pigs and ended up in trouble.

It's easy to clean up after yourself, unless the government forces everyone to leave the homeless camp immediately, forcing them to only take the things they can carry. Whatever they can not carry, they have to leave behind. Then people come on KZbin, form their opinions, and call them names for leaving it all behind.

So are you not a person. You talk as if uoure an alien race that couldn't possibly do this. If people are the most destructive on earth what does that make you. If you want we could not consider you part of the human race. So which is it are you a person or just observe people doing this. Unless you can prove otherwise honey you're people too. Sorry to say that if you lock them up, there is still the same mess left behind. We have a systemic issue in our country today that starts with impoverished Americans who wind up in our Judicial system and it manufactures more problems than it solves. It’s hardly even a temporary fix while they are in a jail or a prison, they simply are trained to do what it takes to survive inside the Lock up. Very few people are interested in reforming a “Criminal” but how much has been done to make sure that they don’t want to go back to the life they had been living. Given skills and a trade and education in something different is also steeped with suspicion that they will just take advantage of that system and wind up back in a Lock up. The way that we treat just non-violent offenders is de-Humanizing. So I implore you to come up with something better than locking them up! If that’s all you can do then there’s not going to be enough people to watch the prisoners. We already have enough Psychotics Running the Asylums as it is...

@@coltonhousel5090 well if they already locked up then they cant make the mess! We were talking about the free dumbasses that do this to the land. THEY are the ones that need to be locked up. Sheesh! Your example was irrelevant to the thread. 🤔

The DNR in Washington has a nice way to deal with this kind of thing.... They put up giant steel and concrete gates and dig massive 12 foot deep tank traps and close access to the entire area. i would have personally cleaned the entire sultan basin recreation area myself if i had any idea that all fishing and all 4 wheeling and all dirt bike riding was over forever. its all been completely closed for over a decade

Sad that people have resorted to having to live like this, then trash and leave it

This is what makes me very ANGRY with homeless people! They really think it's OK to leave their trash for law-abiding citizens to clean up ! It is totally unacceptable and horrible!

This is how i see homeless people, they have the energy to cart this crap in, but i have yet to see them try to keep the area clean and usually find it needed to move because of the mess they have made. Hard to feel sorry for people who do this.
