Hi, I just purchased 0000 steel wool from local hardware store. I removed rear louvers from my car and had serious water spots on rear window that I could not remove. I used every chemical i could find, nothing worked. I then used the steel wool. It worked absolutely excellent. I then cleaned window with rain x as you recommended. I couldn't be more happy with the results as the window looks brand new again. This works 100 %. Thank you for this video!

Ok, you get my vote. You know what quality looks like. I work for a manufacturing dealership, particularly with Toyota and now 3 years in Honda. I've also worked with Chevy (GM) and Hyundai. You are using the Factory brand wiper blades and I commend you. People do not realize the substantial amount of quality this is over the aftermarket brands. I respect you.🙌🙌

I’ve started to clean my windshield with some steel wool, thank you for the advice! It is working, but veeeery slowly, my water spots are so thick it makes me doubt they’ve ever been cleaned. Excited to have it finished eventually!

My parking spot is under 3 different trees, one of which has those purple flowers of death! My car got caked up with different saps and flowers. Could not see much through the windshield. Tried goo-gone automotive, and it did absolutely nothing! I tried some citrus-based car wash soap, and again, that didn't do much, although it did a bit better than goo-gone. Luckily I had a pack of 0000 steel wool. I went to try it on the windshield, and it was turning all that dried-up sap into dust that I could easily wipe off with a microfiber towel. It'll take some time and several go-overs, but it definitely works! Thanks for the tip.

For sure. Ceramic Detailers work better. They give the glass a hydrophobic coat and are easier on the wipers.

Will thi work to remove rain x? A friend used rain x on their car in cold temps and probably used too much. Now theres a bad glare. Have tried dish soap, vinegar, 99$ isopropyl. And nothing worked. Finally found the rain x xtreme glass cleaner. Gonna try it hut again will have to do it in the cold as its winter here but gotta get this off asap

What are you going to do about the little metal fibers that are coming out of the steel wool that are going to rust by next morning lying at the bottom of the windshield. Only reason I say this is because it happen to me the first time I used this method. Also don't do this method to the mirrors the glass is way to soft I also learned this the hard way. I still use this method but when I'm done I blow off as much metal fibers as I can then rinse rinse rinse.

And the best product for cleaning your wiper blades is denatured alcohol on a clean rag. Makes them last much longer too. (Got that from Scotty Kilmer)

It won't scratch the windshield. Buy sprayway glass cleaner and 0000 steel wool. Spray the glas cleaner on windshield and start scrubbing with wool

@Tommy, did any fine particles from steel wool come off while you polish the windshield? If so, how did you remove these steel wool particles? I've seen objection to using steel wool is leaving fine particles that can cause rust.

Yes the steel wool sheds small fibers. If you are worried about it you can always wash the car afterwards to rinse them all away👍🙂

Use a leaf blower to blow away any fine leftover pieces, then wash if you feel so inclined....

@@melslittleworld2 I should have been clearer, you use a rag or combination sponge and squeegee to clean the entire windshield, after that its deep cleaned.. I use the same product on my home windows. After 3 of 4 cleanings, I now wash my home windows far less than I used to. I'd say I reduced my overall home window cleanings over time by double to triple. I've been doing this at least 5 years. Weather plays a factor in when the next cleaning comes due.

Rain-X has a high alcohol content that makes it a great cleaner and it coats the glass with a protective coating. I wash my house windows with it. I used to wash my house windows around every 3 months. Now, I do it far less. Its the coating that repels dirt. The stuff is the best and removes road tar, etc.

Ok. I just used this method on one spot in my windshield and i rubbed the same spot for 2 minutes and nothing changed! My car has just under 20K miles so it's not old and I promise you this isn't working! I wish I could show you! 😢😢
