CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Benjamin Bratt (Captain Ramirez) and Raymond Cruz (Domingo Chavez) discover a secret cocaine bunker and detonate it.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
This is the third film based on Tom Clancy's high-tech espionage potboilers starring CIA deputy director Jack Ryan. Harrison Ford, returning to the Ryan role after his first go-round in 1992's Patriot Games, is assigned to a delicate anti-drug investigation after a close friend of the President (a Reaganesque Donald Moffat) is murdered by a Colombian drug cartel. When Ryan discovers that the President's wealthy friend was in league with the cartel, the President's devious national security adviser (Harris Yulin) and an ambitious CIA deputy director (Henry Czerny) send a secret paramilitary force into Colombia to wipe out the drug lords. The force is captured and then abandoned by the President's lackeys. It falls to Ryan to enter Colombia and rescue them, aided only by a renegade operative named Clark (Willem Dafoe), with both his life and career on the line.

For those who think that the explosion is too big for the satchel charge, that may be true but be mindful that it was an drug processing plant they blew up and those are usually full of flammable if not explosive chemicals.
@jackstecker5796

You're not wrong. 4lb bulk explosive charge will push 6 psi overpressure out to 56 feet in an enclosed space. And that'll kill you deader than a doornail. That's not even counting primary and secondary fragmentation, or being thrown into stuff, (that's about 4 psi, if memory serves). Plus, as you pointed out, all the volatile chemicals, stored in plastic jugs and glass bottles. 1.5 psi overpressure will pop those out to 120 feet in an enclosed space.

This scene is why M-81 is the superior camouflage pattern
@Ryan_Christopher
@Ryan_Christopher 2 жыл бұрын
M-81 still sticks out in the Jungle as it’s too dark in places. It was made for European Forests after all, and the camo effect wears-off inside 300 meters at that. Tiger Stripe is still superior for tropical foliage, that’s why Clarke wore it in this film. OCP/Multicam is an attempt to bridge such gaps in performance. Nevertheless I will not casual wear my American BDU uppers or lowers in my native country in SEA. Wouldn’t want to get killed by an insurgent or dirty cop looking for an upgrade to their jungle camo threads.

All that camo yet their black weapons stick out like sore thumbs. When I was in the infantry with the 101st, they started to let us paint our weapons after OIF 1. Then one day we were told we couldn't because of some order that the new SecDef sent down saying we couldn't do that anymore. Or so that's what we were told. Camo painting weapons ought to be a priority for infantry units since the black coated M4s and M16s stick out really bad.

Used the lame excuse that our gas masks would not be effective. As IF it would take more than 5 minutes to shave off a beard ! I looked up this movie on IMFDB. The guns that the cartel had in this scene were the Norinco Type 56 which is the AK-47 built by China, the Uzi and one had a 9 mm Beretta.
