If your Cars paint job is ugly because it's peeling, eroding, crumbling, do this to reduce the ugly contrasting areas where the clear coat is intact but hazy, where the edges are peeling off, where the clear coat came off and the color base coat is exposed and oxidized. Use it to reduce the ugly contrast and bring back the good remaining color and shine. For a more cleaner look it won't be perfect but it will help it look better. Until you can repaint it.
Lukat Fix It is not a wax! This is made for cleaning and polishing old paint jobs back to like new. It works for old base coats or old clear coats, It restores the remaining color and gloss in the aging paint job making it smooth and shiny once more. Then you can both Seal and wax your restored finish with our Lukat Ez Sealer Wax, this will protect the new finish. If you got questions call us at 505-304-8652, want to see our special offers visit our website at lukatdetail.com. Now you know what to do, go-getter done!

How to improve the look and refraction on peeling or eroding clear coats, and old oxidized base coats.
These products are made for restoring old auto paint jobs
If your car's paint is old and hazy here's the product made for bringing back the good remaining color and shine. Lukat Fix it Color and Gloss restorer polisher and the Lukat EZ Sealer wax.
Two Products Two Simple Steps One Great Finish
Step One: Use The Lukat Fix It Old Paint Cleaning Polisher to remove embedded oxidation, contamination, from off of the surface of your old auto paint job.
This product is not an auto paint wax rather it's a liquid deep cleaner made for polish cleaning removing restoring your old paint job back to a smooth and shiny state.
If you have a classic car with an original single-stage paint job with an oxidized chalky patina or a ruff textured patina on an old metallic single-stage base coat? Then this is the stuff to bring it back.
Step Two: Use the Lukat Ez Sealer Wax to preserve and protect the finish.
Apply like a regular wax let dry and cure for about ten to twenty minutes then remove.
Remember these are old paint restorer products there made to bring back your paint to a better state. After these two simple steps, the paint job will be smooth and shiny once more now you are able to use any over-the-counter wax to enhance the finish.
Special disclaimer for a delaminated clear coat,
( WE CONSIDER DELAMINATING CLEARCOATS AS DESTROYED PAINT JOBS ) If your car's clear coat is eroding or peeling the very best thing to do is simply repaint it. Once the clear coat comes off it's not coming back.
BUT IN THE MEANTIME, you can use our products to help beautify the car's paint job, use the Lukat Fix it Color and Gloss Restorer Polish to polish clean back the remaining color and gloss on the good remaining clear coat and polish clean back the shine on the good remaining color base coat. Feather back the crumbling edges preferably with a kitchen scouring pad or sandpaper 400 to 600 grit. If you want to know more simply call us if we don't answer text us and we will get back to you. Thank You.

I bought some of this on a whim at a flea market, finally after 1.5 yrs. I got around to trying it out. I didnt do any prep (only washed the area I tested), i put a tiny dab on a terry cloth and went to town... I'm working in random sections and cannot believe it works! I wish i could show the difference! Plus, i get a nice arm workout🤣💪

I used a tungsten bladed scraper for my 22yr old Vauxhall Astra. You would NOT believe how hard the crazed lacquer was. I was shocked. In my case I took the super hard lacquer right off the estate roof and bonnet leaving most of the paint....then wet and dry sanded....then Aerosol repainted and lacquered.....lot of work... Thanks for this....interesting approach and I wish I'd seen your video before......great idea. NoAxe

You can put a little piece of tape on both sides of your razor blade edges/points to help reduce the risk of gouging. The water helps keep the abrasives on the paper clean and not loaded up with clear, so you get a more efficient and consistent cut. The more water the better, for the most part. Have you experimented with Optimum Clear Coat Restorer? Might be a product you'd have some fun with. 👍👌👍

Most of you missed the point. He said, if you cant fix it (meaning don't know how to paint or have the equip.) Or cant afford a paint job its a way of making it look better. Me, I paint but I'm impressed with how good he got that completely shot clear to shine. I've never tried to save something that far gone since I've been painting for years. I say, pretty cool. More power to him.

@@spl152db He is cleaning the clear coal AND the base coat. The smoother part is the base coat. The strange part is, the base coal, in the usual base coat-clear -coat paint job, is flat. In the car hood he is working on, the base-coat is shiny. It looks like somebody painted a clear-coat over a shiny finish coat, not a base coat. Or, someone had, already, polished the base-coat.

How long does the restoration last when car is stored outside? All the critics of this tutorial as based on purchases of vehicles that have not been garaged to speak of. Knowing this work is great for people driving older cars.

There are many reasons the water is used during wet sanding some of the main benefits are; the water flushes the particulates from the abrasive, keeps your sandpaper from plugging up (most wet sanding is done with super fine grits so abrasives plug very easy), dissipates friction heat, prevents the particulates from becoming airborne (when sanding things such as fiberglass if you breath it or it gets in your eyes it sucks) and most of these would cost time and money.

I used this method on a section of my hood. Most of the clear coat on the hood is missing except around the edges. I scuffed up the clear coat and use the razor on the edges just like in this video. I use 1500 grit sandpaper wet sanding the clear coat. Then I used 3M machine polish and it came out great. Now I'm going to do the whole hood. Thanks very much for this video

This is a good option for people who are saving up to fix their car. In the meantime the car doesn't need to look bad.

Many of us has a car till the paint is like this or worse. It's not a cover up. It's to make better than it was after all we see it every day the ugliness of that kind of paint. This is quick solution without knowledge expertise. At least he took the time to show others his wonder.

I'm glad I saw this before doing another helpful procedure. I look forward to performing this one which doesnt include actually hard standing and then a light repainting. Rather I prefer this method including a cleaning, light scraping then buff followed by compound. I ordered this and look forward to using it. Thank you for the insight and alternative. I will follow up with results.

i would apply a 2k spray clear coat at the end, it is the only way for long lasting results.

Yup that can be and it's been done. After you polish it to a smooth and glossy state It'll get it's shine back then rub it down with alcohol to get any residue off before you apply the clear coat.

I had this problem on a 23 year old vehicle. I used a rattle can of clear with almost no prep and achieved a slighty better result than this. It has lasted more than 2 years now.
