If you are looking for war stories my podcast is never going to satisfy you. They aren't interesting to me, and they serve no value except for entertainment and oftentimes clickbait. The men and women behind the stories are what actually matter. I ask the questions in the way I do so the guest can answer broadly if needed or can dial into specifics if they want. I would rather spend my time understanding the impact that events from war had on someone and what they were able to do with their experiences, and how others can learn from that, as opposed to "no shit, there I was." I'm certainly not judging anyone else's approach, just explaining my own.

Canadian here,please people dont say "Canada" as if we are all of one mind, and really, you want to give us the middle finger,we"re nice people,welcoming,polite and very grateful to those who serve,put their lives on the line, to not only protect our Country but others as well. My father was in WW2,in Africa,France and Italy he never,ever talked about the war or his experiences,he would refuse when we asked. Others who have gone to war want to talk about their experiences and as long as it"s not putting others or themselves in danger,or disclosing classified information they should be free to tell their stories. .

@20:18 - So my understanding is that the reason we hear ourselves differently than others hear us when we sing is because part of what we hear when we sing comes internally from bone conduction in our face which is a different sound and resonance so we actually physically hear something different to what a listener hears. Pretty interesting…
@esk8er900

I believe it’s also in part due to the shape/volume of the head & the distance between the vocal cords & eardrums with how sound reflects off the surroundings.

Great interview. Love seeing Dallas on another podcast after The Shawn Ryan Show. Would be great if Andy could help refocus information for the listeners only the way Rogan does in the section where Dallas describes their sniper hide as being the same size as the room they're presently in (looked ~20'x15'/7mx5m room in the video Shawn Ryan released and then took down).

It took me a few days after graduating Navy boot camp to forget how to do hospital corners and I haven't done one since. In fact, living in the barracks after that I didn't see anyone doing hospital corners. My theory is everyone was focusing on new skills such as building legit chairs and couches out of bud light boxes and old skills went by the wayside!

I enjoyed this interview. The good thing about this bloke is that he is a private person because it was like pulling hen teeth to get information out of him. Meaning he has a lot to say and he is navigating through his values in respect to his military experiences. Which is a supreme character trait that is woefully lacking in so many aspects of our cultural universe (politicians being the worst of all). 2:00:43

Dallas Alexander is absolutely an inspiration and more heroes will join Caf Csor and JTF units because it has a face now, it's awesome JTF2 is secret and has a mystique but until you see and hear from someone in the unit it may as well be bigfoot or Tessy or a leprechaun. JTF2 and other Canadian Units probably have more confirmed sniper shots in the top 100 than any other country and that's cool but until you see a person who was involved with any of it it doesn't seem as real. Take for instance the shot they were talking about, Special forces types and arm chair types were screaming impossible it never happened that's artillery range and it had to take a dozen shots and bla blah blah, now everyone knows how it was done and their like oh yeah it's possible 🤔 I hope every Canadian gets to know Dallas Alexanders story as well as Jeff Depatie and Shaun Taylor and others 💪🇨🇦

I've been all over the world with the Navy from La Maddelen, Sardinia to Little Creek Virginia and being from East Texas still haven't broke from my accent. I sound like Hank Hill from king of the hill. I like to think I sound intelligent, but heard my voice on a voicemail playback and sound like Dale. It's an odd thing to hear our voices in our head differently from what we actually sound like.
