Hi, Keenyn, I appreciate you because you are doing hard work to making pronunciation videos. I've gotten to understand that exactly what wanna student, however, pronunciation is the most important part of the English language if you did give 100 percent to learning English then we can learn English but the pronunciation is so difficult nevertheless we should do it.i heed your rule. Your videos are really pleasurable to me thanks

Most Americans (including myself) pronounce /ɔ/ exactly like /ɑ/ as in "olive," so don't worry about learning /ɔ/ separately. You can look up the "cot-caught merger" to learn more.

My last name is spelt with OUGH in it, and growing up I have heard to pronounced so many different ways it drives me nuts. So there is also Hiccough(Hiccup) and Lough(Loch), these are used still in the UK.
@ClearEnglishCorner3 жыл бұрын
I can imagine, Josh! 😄 When I see your name I want to pronounce it like "Cloe" to rhyme with "Joe" using the OH as in ROSE BOAT vowel. What is the correct pronunciation?
@SessionSakic3 жыл бұрын
@@ClearEnglishCorner It's actually pronounced like cloud with a silent "d" lol, Like Plough. When I was younger I was taught this sentence by an older English teacher. "I thought it would be rough to plough through the slough, though it was falling into the lough that left me thoroughly coughing and hiccoughing."
