Right! I would have had to do a lot of work to make a bend like that, but nature did it in the blink of an eye

Reminds me of a story from an old motorman buddy of mine, a police officer had held up traffic in town because of a downed tree. It wasn't big but she decided it was enough of a problem to make it a problem for everyone, my friend pulls the trolley up to the cop and asked why she is holding up traffic, he then goes and picked up the tree and moved it away from the road and everything ran like normal. Thanks very much for the update. It looks as if the damage could have been much more severe and needed mainly time to put right. Hopefully you can do something about the tree so that you can control where it comes down. Do you know any generous tree sugeons? Good luck!!

Sorry for the storm. Your rails are big enough to sustain almost no damage from an average fallen tree. Weakest point is catenary. About that dead tree, if you have no budget to cut it or find no one that´ll do free and get the wood, one day you´ll have to climb and cut it piece by piece The stump is a pretty big chunk. If you can just remove big branches, you´ll cut a lot of its weight specially during storm. The left over can stay and shouldn´t present a big risk. But that long one with greenery should really go. Be safe. Trees can be serious killer, and hard to know how badly rotten it can be inside.
