For me the problem is that in real life situations, whenever you don't have an instructor next to you, some of these situations can cost someones life - and he doesn't seem to notice or care. Maybe it's nerves, but she repeatedly tells him to use both hands on the steering wheel in tricky situations and he doesn't bother. After passing your test you will still be nervous in certain situations, but you have to learn to then go slower or more careful and not the opposite.

As a driving instructor, I've encountered this type of "overconfident" students and they're mostly one of the most difficult to teach. Not open to constructive criticism or willing to learn from their mistakes... I rather make an effort to push an untalented student driver with a good attitude to pass an exam... I had so much driving anxiety as a learner and never wanted to get behind the wheel because of reckless drivers like this, experienced or otherwise. I have sympathy for someone who is still learning and making mistakes because of course, you have to start somewhere but if I could give this guy some kind advice, let go of the "I'm a G" mentality bro, put two hands on the wheel, drive slowly and cautiously especially if you don't know the roads and be aware of your surroundings. I passed my test almost a year ago and haven't had any issues driving, but quite often when I watch these videos I see junctions that just look really confusing. Particularly the traffic light junction at 16:00. I don't think I've yet encountered any traffic lights like this, and the only similar ones I've been at are where I sit in the middle to turn right but there have never been any cars from the opposite direction also waiting to turn right. I think it would probably throw me off a bit to run into some of these.

I was thinking this. I'm miles away from being test ready but I've already realised when I pass I'll still have loads of stuff I haven't covered. I'll probably get more lessons after I pass in different areas to get more experience. I've never driven in a city, for instance - or the crazy roundabouts on steroids they have just outside the city
@phire0
@phire0 11 ай бұрын
@@Hiforest Now it's completely up to you, but I actually advise against doing lessons to try out different areas. I think the best way to learn is to do it yourself. I became 1000x more confident driving when I passed my test and got my own car, and whenever I need to drive somewhere new, I just pop it into the sat nav and go for it! I live in a small town and learned to drive here, so I had never driven in a city or super busy areas outside of my town until passing my test, and although it's scary, it's so freeing to be able to just go and do it :)

I echo the other comments here. You are an amazingly brave girl Aman and that's beyond question. That was a very scary test. When I was taught to drive, I was told to keep both hands on the wheel at all times, apart from brief moments using indicators etc. and changing gear. Years on, I still do. Driving with one hand on the steering wheel only, is not giving full control of the vehicle. He may well have had 25 previous lessons, but nevertheless has developed some very bad habits in his driving, which caused dangerous situations to occur. Doubtless he was nervous, being in a different car with different controls, but all the more reason to drive more slowly. I think you were much safer in that helicopter Aman!! We all think so highly of you, that we don't like to see your safety put at risk. ❤
