Best time I ever had drifting was at a Marlboro event at the Kentucky speedway. We rode in a iroc car around the track at probably 3/4 speed, then they took us drifting in a 2008 mustang drift car. I do believe that was the biggest smile I ever had on my face. There is just nothing like riding with a pro drifting a setup course.

Getting to beat on cars as a kid are some of my best memories. A crazy guy we knew won 2 944s in a poker game and let us thrash on them before he came back for them. "Porshe dirt track challenge" was born. Was having flashbacks of the shenanigans there. Beaters are sometimes more fun than purpose built rigs. The BMW is the best of both worlds, a purpose built beater!

The J turn as you call it is a Rockford maneuver as I have known it- Garner did almost all his own driving for the Rockford files, including a version of the bootlegger’s turn. With the automatic-equipped Formala Firebird accelerating in reverse at full speed, he’d crank the wheel sharply, let the nose snap around, and then jam the transmission into first and leave the scene in a cloud of burned rubber. Hands down the best mod I did to my E46 330 was the Speed Buster from Germany. I makes your throttle response insane not to mention you can make custom maps on your phone and toggle back and forth using your cell phone. Seriously check it out. There are other pedal mods that use a switch that but the Speed Buster is Bluetooth. It's hilarious to switch mapping while someone else is driving and watch their response.
