In Nate's case I think some people unfamiliar with him would hear his four letter riddled interviews or see him give somebody the finger and think he lacked sportsmanship, which couldn't be more untrue to people who did know him. He was a polarizing fighter on his way up. I think guys like him, Chael or Connor brought the UFC to the level of popularity it has today. They always made you excited for the fight and you couldn't avoid talking about it the entire week after.

What's interesting about Nate is not just how he rose up from rough circumstances to make something of himself, but how technical he really is. His jiu-jitsu and boxing are underrated for how crisp and well-executed it is. He's not just a street brawler. A lot of his losses and struggles are ultimately mental and an issue of motivation imo.
@largestarmsgreatestcharm82312 жыл бұрын
His offensive boxing is pretty technical when he wants it to be but his brothers was much better. His defensive boxing leaves a lot to be desired though. His cardio carried him through a lot of fights that his technique alone wouldn't have.

He received enough CTE status build up for the entirety of Stockton. That he can even still talk is fascinating.

So many of the greatest fighters come from the poorest places, shame on anyone who judged him or his brother for that. (manny pacquiao, mike tyson, buakaw to name a few)

Nate Daiz & Nick Daiz are true hard core street brawlers and came from the bottom working their butts off to the top. So proud

When McGregor got the split decision win with their second meeting, I always thought they should have met again. Im bummed that didn't ever happen. Seems like Nate's ahead in that since he choked out McGregor on their first go.
