Hey, I recognize those guys! :) The shark dude is from Descent 2E, and the others are from The World of SMOG: Rise of Moloch. I say finish painting the Serbs and then invite him over for some One-Hour Skirmish Wargames by John Lambshead. I've had good luck using it to introduce newbies to the hobby - easy mechanics and little overhead, but the action points give them something to think about.
