I do the single paper for each person thing but I make it even more fun. We are a blended family of eight, and each of us gets five gifts, so that's a lot of gifts. What I do is, after wrapping each person's gifts in their paper, I rip off a piece of the paper and put it in the toe of their Christmas stocking. That way we have forty gifts under the tree and nobody knows whose they are! On Christmas morning we start with stockings and everyone finds their piece 😊

I did this exact same think year before last. Last year they each had their own shape of name tags this year I was thinking of their own ribbon??? Don’t know yet. When my kids were small to not have to label with my handwriting i got wrap w/ Santas picture on it, red paper for one & green for the other

My Mom did the perfect thing as far as gifts for my three sons. She bought them something that cost around 20 dollars and also put money in a college fund for them. She also did the same on their birthdays. By 18, there was about 10,000 for each of my sons. That was an amazing thing for her to do and the best 🎁 gift. 💜 💚❤️

If you have more people decorating cookies than pans, the packs of the 1/4 sheet foil pans from the dollar tree work really well. I've used them for cookie decorating parties in the past. It not only contains the mess, guests can also use them to bring their cookie masterpieces home.

When my daughter was 2yrs old and under, I found the biggest boxes that she could play in and wrapped them like 3 or 4 times. Christmas morning was absolutely amazing for her, and it was super easy and cheap for me.... let's be honest, at that age kids barely care about the toys and just want the boxes and wrapping paper anyhow

Thanks for the good advice. I love the activity wall. What we do to help our Christmas run smoother is to do frequent "brain dumps". Simply keep a pen and paper by my bed and then every night I dump all my to-do's and worries down on paper. It's great for making sure you don't forget anything, but also for just working through your thoughts at a stressful time.

I also had each child bring a laundry basket to the area where we were opening gifts. This way all presents can go into their baskets, things don't get lost or mixed up and when it is time to take everythign to their rooms it is all ready to go. We used to do this hack when going to grandparents homes as well. Made loading up so easy.

On Christmas eve, I put out a garbage bag out by the tree for the next morning for the trash. I like the idea of the Santa's helper's bag because I usually have to run and get a knife or pair of scissors to open presents. I also make a couple of I call Christmas Quiche on Christmas eve to pop in the oven on Christmas morning for breakfast and have with my coffee or juice that way can focus on "being in the moment" on Christmas Day.

I’m not a mom but I love how creative these ideas are. I been doing the individual wrapping paper hack since I was in my late teens for family members, partners etc. it is a huge lifesaver. You can also express each person’s individual personalities with it too. I also do personalized gift tags as well. I really like the decorated gift wrapping collection box hack for Christmas morning. Normally my family just uses a trash bag. I think I’ll give that a try this year.

So many things I loved in your video! First of all, that activity center for your little guy! Kudos! I'm an pediatric OT and I could not have done it better. What a lucky little dude. Keep the same hooks and change into seasonal project with color and shape sorting etc. Second the cookie decorating, I learned that one the hard way, kids don't care that the cookie is homemade. One year, we use Graham crackers straight out of the box and went wild with frosting (from a can!) and all forms and shapes of candies. However, once my son was older and able to help roll and shape the cookies, then we had fun with that. We even made a gingerbread house from scratch.. I guess the point is to figure out what matters most at the time.

I ran an in home daycare for 10 years and my favorite cookie decorating for young children is mixing food color in evaporated milk and let them paint the cookie dough before you cook it. Also if they really like sprinkles you can use the colored sugar sprinkles and they bake into the cookie and leave a color too. My daycare kids loved this more then icing because they could control it better

Wish I had someone telling me this when i had kids at home. I thought if I did not do everything and do it right our Christmas would be ruined. I run myself ragged cleaning, cooking, decorating to the point I would be in tears and exhausted and then I did not not enjoy Christmas. I kinda dreaded it. Now as I am older (56) I just do what I can and let the rest go. Kids don’t care if everything is perfect. As long as you have presents under the tree and a few snacks for them they are 😃 happy. 🤗🎄☃️ Have fun and enjoy Christmas!!🤗🤪🌟🎁❄️

Love the tip of not saying "no", but taking a picture to send to Santa Claus. I have a 6mo. so he's too little to want anything yet. I’ve done the “want, need, wear, read” thing since my son was a baby (he’s now ten). I usually use it for my husband, too! It’s a lifesaver to rein in the amount of “stuff”, plus it helps me control my spending a bit more. You can also customize it a bit more if you want to! For example, we are fortunate enough that my kids rarely actually need anything, so they usually get two wants instead of a want and a need. My son is really into a few book series, and last year he started a new one right before Christmas so for the “read” category instead of just one book I finished out the series for him (it wound up being 3-4 books, I can’t remember exactly how many). For the “wear” category I’ve done thinks like a robe and slippers, or a couple of cute outfits for my daughter, or a few hoodies for my son. I just make sure to wrap everything that’s in the same category together, and I try to make sure that it’s balanced so they both get the same number of things in each category. It works out really well for us!

When my kids were little, we didn’t have a lot of money to spend at Christmas so they got one “Wow!”gift from Santa and the more practical gifts from Mom and Dad. Honestly, they just enjoyed the fun of opening the gifts 😆 I even included the pets in the gift giving so that they didn’t get everything “from Mom and Dad”. They thought it was hysterical that Rover went shopping with me ( not really😉)and helped pick out the gift.. When they got older, Santa passed the baton to mom and dad for the “Wow!”gift so he could focus on the younger ones😊
