Those are the steeleseries arctis 3, current store value is roughly 65$. This price is mostly due to stores being unwilling to lower the price of a high value item, as that model is fairly out of date, even for when this video was made. At the time, you would likely have been able to find them on clearance or ebay somewhere for roughly 20 dollars. It's still manufactured now and has been redesigned and marketed as a console headset sold for 70 from the steel series webpage, however amazon is currently carrying for 60. Its resale value is roughly 40 dollars. Whether or not getting blacklisted from a store and potentially fined up to 500dollars for a 60 dollar headset is worth it, is probably up to the thief.

I am a huge fan of the hyper X revolver 2, you can even remove the mic and the USB adapter and use them as regular headphones , they are awesome and sound great, and are comfortable for hours. I am an audiophile . Now i have not tried the razers but judging by the crappy stuff they sell i would not recommend any of their products

Just watched this video for the first time and I can relate. Surprisingly, I had the same conversation with my colleagues about a new public space we opened the beginning of this year. They wanted to keep the door locked because they didn't want people to steal our artifacts but my boss and I had to convince them that it is a public space and people need to come in to use the artifacts.

It's true. Part of security is access. In fact you can make something 100% secure (or near it) by getting rid of all means of access. Just thought someone might find it interesting that the video is a bit like irl. When Harry Selfridge first opened Selfridges, he was revolutionary as all shops at the time actually thought like in the video, that if a customer was allowed to touch the products they would steal them so everything would be behind a counter or in a glass cabinet and an employee would get for them. Selfridge said that he thought that customers would buy the products and he was mostly correct and revolutionised shopping.

Funny thing is that’s kind of how it was many decades ago. Before the modern store everything was kept behind shelves to prevent theft. You had to ask the store clerk for what you wanted.

Yep, Piggly Wiggly became a big chain in the US in 1916 for the innovative idea of being a grocery that let you wander the aisles instead of handing a grocery list to a clerk who'd collect groceries for you. The shoplifting losses were offset by the gain in impulse buys from shoppers wandering aisles.

When I worked retail, I had to physically demonstrate that it was possible to make it from one of the beer stacks to the door without ever being in view of the cash register before management realized that it might not be a good idea for a 24/7 store to stock beer there. (Texas, so alcohol sales end at midnight, or 1 am on Sunday morning.)
