Thank you thank you. Found out if you have 2 garage door openers use the DIP switches on the opener it's self not the controller. It has 2 extra switches.

Just Wondering....My Garage door is a Genie Blue Max installed in 1994. The corresponding remotes that came with unit work great. I have an old Clicker (tm) keyless which I am pretty sure is Type 2 which used to work fine,. but we have not used for quite sometime, so put in a new 9V battery AND we assume that the keypad should instantly light up even before coding, BUT ours does not....does this mean that we just need to purchase a replacement keyless opener? Or are we doing something wrong?

Long story short, after two purchases of the same product and giving up maybe six times, I ran into this video and realized that both of the products i purchased contained instruction manuals for other devices. after watching your video I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK! Never would have been able to program with the instructions given with the product. Only had to reverse the DIP switch sequence once after first attempt. Switches were on a vertical bar mount, so didn't know left and right for 1 or 2. This was great, thanks.

I do not have a garage door opener- however the development I live in has a gate. The old remote had 10 dipswitches but the new on has 12. How to I prgram? I tried leaving last 2 dipswitched up and tried leaving last 2 down. Help

my old crappy ass remotes are broken, im going to home depot tomorrow and trying this, thanks a lot... i tried using the wireless keypad before and the intructions that came with it didnt mention anything about looking up model numbers online, the had a small list, all of which were newer models, my garage door motor may be older, but its in great shape, my openers are falling apart, time to fix that issue thanks to you

MULTI-CODE 1099-50 Garage Door Opener or Gate 12 Volt Receiver 1 Channel 300MHz or 310MHZ / wire to genie garage door model 12 a W1 is a green wire / B2 is a Orange wire / Y3 is a black wire / G4 it is a yellow wire MULTI-CODE using one red wire one black wire and to Gray wire / I just need to know what color goes where so I don't short the unit out . Because the factory receiver is dead. It partially works by have to stand right next. / Second question . Can I wire can I wire from pull out the Connector from the receiver board. And use the brown and and black and green wire / and from the multi code use the wires that are coming from it Connect the block and Greg to the block wire and the other gray wire to the to the green and hooked the red wire to the brown.

No, do not pull out the receiver board. An external receiver is normally hooked to the same terminals as the wall button. Probably 1 & 2 on the Genie opener. Then there may be a wire for power, or a transformer that is plugged into a power outlet. You need the instruction manual for the Multi Code to determine which wires from the receiver do what. I do not use that model of receiver, so I do not have the instructions for it. Also be aware that there is an antenna wire also on the new receiver and on your existing opener. Make sure the antenna is clear and exposed to get a good signal.

Nice video, thanks. I have an old Stanley opener. My "clicker" brand quit working, so I bought a new wireless Clicker model KLIK2U, but I can't get it to work either. The two car remotes work fine. I've checked the DIP switches, and they are all in the same position. Any ideas?

Bernhard Hedstrom Programming this keypad to dip switch type receivers has many steps and must be followed exactly and precisely. You must hold the * and # down exactly at the same time until the keypad stops flashing. Also the dip switch sequence segment is important to be correct. Number of switches and position. Sometimes it is hard to tell if it is in the on or off position. Maybe change and if it is on use it as off and so on. Use the chart. It may take a few tries before you get it. Remember the dip switch sequence must be correct. Good Luck...

I neglected to mention that mine has a 9 pin WITHOUT a Smart/Learn button to work. Though not documented as such, opener ID #11 was used. I hope someone else finds this helpful and shaves a couple hours back into their lives with this information. God Bless you Sir for posting this info online. I will replace my unit and contact your business to sell and ship me my replacement.

+Arthur Levine The new Clicker universal remote will work with DIP switches and learn buttons. Either Chamberlain KLIK3 or LiftMaster 375UT. You can download the instructions and there is a list of garage door opener brands that are compatible. See if your model is included. Or, tell me the model and make of your opener and I will check for you.

i don't understand where the dip switches are located on the remote? is it on the remote or the motor itself?

+Nou Khang Some models have the DIP Switches on the motor unit near the light bulbs or near the wires. Some units have a separate receiver box on the side with wires leading to the motor. If you have a working remote, you can slide the cover off and should be DIP Switches there. Unless you have a more recent model opener with a smart/learn button. That is different.
