Training my 12 week old Aussie without clicker or treats. So far doggy door, pee and poop outside, sit, stay, times for walks and meals memorized etc...she is a machine !

Thank you for watching! They're a lot of work, but the reward is equally great. Did you end up getting one?

We've had a clicker for a while, but i didn't know anything and apparently neither did my dad cause he said buy the same clicker, so I'm gonna try and see if we can order a different clicker online since we have two aussie puppies, same litter. Boy and a girl, I'm gonna train Max first since he doesn't respond as well to his name unlike Ruby does already and she's the smarter of the two, I feel if I can manage it with Max, Ruby will do splendid then cause she catches on quick.

But I wanted to learn, so I searched this up to get started, because we're getting E-collars but I don't wanna resort to that every time

I'm wondering if I have two dogs I'd like to start trying to train like this should I keep them separate in the beginning stages?
@MyAussieBlogVideos10 жыл бұрын
Absolutely - they'll likely learn at different rates and you really want to give your full attention to the dog you're training. You want to be able to catch the subtle nuances that indicate he/she understands the request you've just made. I would keep them separate for all 'learning' stages. When you want to just practice (i.e. "Everybody sit"), you could ask both at the same time.

MyAussieBlogVideos Thanks for the tip! I have started training them separately. One of my dogs is REALLY food motivated so the little crunchy treats are working great and she seems to be learning very fast but the other (my picky-eating little toy poodle) could care less about the treats so I'm trying to find something else or a different type of food to treat her with so that I can keep her interested and have fun with the training.

How long did it take to potty train him?

I was at pets mart today to give my mini Aussie his first vaccination and three different people came up to me today and asked me if he is my first Aussie and I said yes. Then they told me to make sure he gets lots of mental stimulation or he will become destructive when he gets older. what do they mean by mental stimulation?
