@@walterluvsu8818 lokieleven2694 Also check out answers in Genesis // Ken Ham. I have struggled to wrap my head around this same concept and they have really helped me to grapple with it by showing evidence and putting it into perspective- (such as the life-size biblically accurate Ark-replica they built in Kentucky complete even with living quarters for Noah's family and the animals, and figures of all of them. I have visited a few times, and you can really see how it actually makes sense when taken seriously and not as some cartoon boat with giraffe heads sticking out like we often see depicted.)

There's nothing wrong with asking questions, having struggles understanding things and having doubts, I have loads of all of the above too and I only wish I could help answer your question but I can't. I don't know if the flood was literal, metaphorical, a bit of both or maybe it never even happened at all, I just don't know. You will probably get some Christians on here who will say in response to people like you and me "do your own research" etc and that all sounds very well but whilst I'm sure they mean well, it's pretty vague because "doing your own research" can mean anything. It will mean different things to different people. For example, it could mean everything from looking at tons of videos about the subject matter online to going around the world and talking to different people about the subject, that all comes under "doing your own research" and plenty of people have already done that and whilst they might have 'answers' they don't all agree on those supposed 'answers', so how are they REALLY answers? Those so-called 'answers' are probably adding to the confusion rather than helping resolve it. For what it may be worth to you, what I can tell you is you're not alone, many others are asking the same questions and I hope that knowing that might be of some help to you rather than maybe thinking it's just you, because it certainly isn't just you. Best wishes.

The story of Noah {Nuah} and the Ark is an allegorical story and should not be taken literally. The Ark is the Argha or feminine principle and Noah is spirit falling into matter. When Noah {spirit} descends upon the earth he plants a vineyard {Gen.9:20-21} and becomes intoxicated or spirit becoming intoxicated when trapped within matter. This is a repeat of Genesis chapter one, thus: "and the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." 1 - Noah {Nuah}: Means divine permutations of the saviour of humanity who carries in his Ark the germs of all living things. 2 - Ark {Argha, Arca, Arg}: Means chest; covered basket; enclosed receptacle; womb of nature wherein are preserved the seeds of preceding ages which unfold into a new system of human development; female generative power; navi-form {boat-shaped}; crescent sidereal vessel, in which, the germs of all nature float or brood on the abyss. The ark, in which are preserved the germs of all living things to repopulate the earth, represents the survival of life and the supremacy of spirit over matter through the conflict of the powers of nature. In Short - Each round of human existence is a new system of human development (evolution). 1) Adam was a round (cycle) of human development; whereby, the earth was populated, reached its epitome, and was destroyed by man because of material sin (gain, corruption). 2) Noah was a new round (cycle) of human development; whereby, the earth was repopulated. 3) Seth (few chapters later) was a new round (cycle) of human development. Seth means: Man (mankind). Enoch (Seth's son) means: Son of Man. 4) Everything (including the universe) is eternal and cyclic. It has its birth, youth, old age, and death; whereby, the cycle begins again (rebirth, resurrection).

you are free to believe anything you wish lokie, but it's good that you question something that you're struggling with, I can remember being ridiculed as a kid by another slightly older kid saying that I believed the Noah's Ark story, i think i would have been about 8 or 9 years old. It's something that stuck with me for years. The older I've got, and the more knowledge I've attained, particularly regarding the age of the Earth has confirmed my own suspicions that the flood story is exactly that.. a story, it has no basis in fact. Science and the scientific method has a pretty good track record of uncovering the truth. It's good to question things 🙂

@JohnCashin Жыл бұрын
That's right Tom, and besides, even if we could all agree that if there is no God then life would be ultimately meaningless, that STILL doesn't tell us whether or not a God actually exists. I know many Christians might say "hey, but you can't live that out, John". And they would be correct, I can't live it out but whether I or anyone can live it out or not still doesn't tell us whether or not it's true. Maybe there is no God and maybe life is pointless and we as thinking creatures are simply unable to fully face up to this, I grant that I can't but us not being able fully face up to it wouldn't change the fact of it. If there is no God and life is meaningless then there's nothing you me or any of us can do about it, other than bury our heads in the sand and I can't blame anyone for that, when I'm doing it myself. Who wants to believe life is meaningless? Of course we don't want to believe it...but maybe...just maybe that is the grim reality.

Here is an important answer that Cliffe is missing. The word for "eternal" hell is aion and can just mean age. In Matthew 24 the disciples ask Jesus what will be the signs of the end of this world. World is aion here. So you gotta keep in mind that certain people had motives geared towards keeping people afraid of burning forever and making you pay $ for your own salvation. Luke 16 mentions a gulf. There is a good side and a bad side. Think to yourself. How could we enjoy heaven if all of the goody goodies are on one side and right next store there's a boiling pit of lava where people are not just burning for billions of years, but trillions upon trillions of years. How could a loving God allow that? And how could we enjoy heaven if one of our loved ones didn't make it? No, after the 1000 years they are blotted out. It's as if they never existed. Gone from our memories and gone from our lives for good. They burn up like fat to a spiddle and the smoke of their ashes go up forever and ever. Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”God is a consuming fire and I'm not saying He is that lake of fire, but he indeed can destroy the soul. Yes, I hear you, and you'll get no arguments from me. Plus, I would add, even if this Jesus/God being (SOMEHOW) exists in some form that we physically made-up beings can't access, eg, outside of this tangible realm, and outside of space and time etc (which I'm willing to grant the possibility of for argument's sake), that's not much use to us here. It's like if you claimed you had an invisible, intangible wife or girlfriend who exists outside of your space, time etc, again, even if she SOMEHOW exists, you will still be effectively walking, dining and sleeping in your bed alone. You will still be as on your own as if she never existed, so she might just as well not exist. You might just as well say "I have no wife or girlfriend", it would be utterly pointless to claim otherwise under those "she's invisible, intangible, outside-of-space and time" conditions. I know some Christians might respond to that analogy by saying "oh, so you're trying to compare a relationship with a spouse to a relationship with God your creator?" but they would be missing the actual point of the analogy, which I'm sure YOU will see even if most of them won't acknowledge it. The actual point, needles to have to explain it to you, of course, is that in BOTH case scenarios, they are intangible and indistinguishable from...NOTHING. Look, I would be willing to talk to God/Jesus and have a relationship with him if he really exists but what I am not going to do keep doing is talk to what seems for all intense and purposes to be empty air. That would be crazy, right? And yet, that is EXACTLY what Christians (and Muslims) do all the time. They bow down and pray to effectively empty air whilst convincing themselves that the being they believe in is SOMEHOW there on some other level that we can't detect and they have nothing to demonstrate to the rest of us that there is really someone there, other than their own personal feelings that this being is SOMEHOW communicating with them as they pray. This is my whole problem with it. Thanks for your input here.

@@dentonhahn2907 Most human beings know that murder is wrong. Not b/c we read it somewhere. If you need a book to tell you murder is wrong, by all means, for the sake of everyone around you, believe in that book.

I love the first kid’s question! Where did Jesus say he wanted us to believe in Christianity? Perfect way of explaining how Christianity is just a made up religion by those who lived after their prophets. Cliff pulls out his regular smokescreen that he’s not advocating anyone follow a religion. His claim is totally fallacious. He is religious advocating a religion.

He said dont believe in "Christianity" so whats your point

U realize Christianity is called that because of Jesus Christ. (Christ)ian he said follow him. So if you follow Jesus ur called a Christian. Now stop with the straw man.

What did Cliff say that was false or failed logic?
@joecline1114 Жыл бұрын
@@astrolexz5995 Cliff’s a Christian trying to convert people to Christianity, but he says to not follow any religion??? Christianity is the literal definition of a follower of Jesus.

@@blackhaze8233 Jesus would have most likely been a Jew and not trying to start another religion. Christianity is the religion about Jesus, not of Jesus.

Was it Gods desire to have everybody choose him ? Was it Gods intention to have all man kind choose to love him and choose salvation over sin ? Answer: YES Do some people not choose to accept salvation ? Answer: YES Can God make a not good choice? Answer: NO Was it good for God to create his creations with the kind of free will that he knew could and would choose evil ? Answer: YES Conclusion: Everything that occurs happens because of Gods actions God is ultimately responsible for everything that occurs It's utterly impossible for any choice to be NOT GOOD. You have no foundation to complain when a child is raped or a person is killed. You have no foundation to know right from wrong good from not good It’s seems as though Cliff is morally bankrupt

In your statement you contradicted yourself. God made it possible for choice, for individual agents to choose between good or evil. So the moral responsibility is on the individual moral agent it is not God making each individual choice only making the choice possible. God informs people of there choices and gives them a set of “best results if followed” information. If people respect their source, purpose, and design guidelines like gender, marriage, honesty, bearing each other’s burdens, and other guidelines the best results do occur. You have again put forth a scenario that criticizes something without presenting any alternative that is better, an alternative that allows individual moral accountability, an alternative where people having any value, something isn’t immoral unless there is some established value that is violated. You can’t claim something morally bankrupt without any basis for what allows for moral value or values that you can reasonably communicate. God as the rational source of inherent value can be coherent because an intelligent mind is the only possible source for things that are rational, if your mind doesn’t have a rational source, like God, and makes contradictory empty statements you’ve done something unreasonable. If you accept God as a foundation then people would not have to endlessly rehash what reason and logic is.

If god cannot make a bad choice then why does his perfect plan fail time after time in the Bible and he has to continue to wipe out societies and even the entire human race and start over?

@Justin Gary Jesus had no contemporaries right about him nor did he right about himself. All those people mentioned lived after Jesus. Pliny the Elder wrote nothing about Jesus, and Pliny the younger never quoted his father as having wrote about Jesus. The gospels are written anonymously. Only later church fathers added names to serve their purpose. Even if their was a guy named Jesus who claimed to be god, it still doesn’t prove a god exists. There’s no historical evidence that could ever prove a god exists. BTW, writing so much at once is not an effective way of communicating your point on social media. Nobody has time for all that.
