"Come on it's a truck" that's why this thing would need a big engine. In other countries rangers are diesels, this 2.3 ecoboost is the same little gas engine of the ford focus. Also they are bad, like they break a lot. This thing doesn't have the capabilities of a real truck and costs as much as a mid-high level mustang or camaro. For the money this thing costs you can get a ram 1500 with v8
@luisinhoens906 жыл бұрын
@@zachariasprice3762 The 2.3 is based on the Mustang Ecoboost, which has had a good reliability record. Focus RS has a transverse mounted engine unlike the Mustang and Ranger. Also, the price is not ridiculous compared to the segment. The Ram doesn't cost the same, a low optioned 4x2 crew cab V8 is north of 40K, but the Laramies and Rebels are mid 50s, so they're hardly the same price.

Bronco will have no V8 option, nor will it have a manual option. The common engine will be a 2.3 liter turbo 4, and will have the 10 speed auto. I'm not a big Ford guy, but I like that 6ft box model. I think the idea of one engine is an engineer's dream come true. They should just get rid of 'penalty box' engines meant to punish you for buying base models.

The Lariat gauge cluster with the single speedometer is rather unfortunate. The lack of a factory trailer brake controller is a bit of a let down as well. And once again, Ford has removed the spot mirrors from the BLIS equipped vehicles which drives me nuts because I love the spotters so much on my little Fiesta that I got tow mirrors on my F150 so that I could have both spot mirrors and BLIS on the same mirror unit. Ford needs to get with the program and include spotters on their BLIS mirrors on the future. Other than those observations, this is one hell of a truck that should be a big hit for Ford.

I think Ford is forgetting about the commercial market with this truck. Down where I live most of the Rangers on the road are business owned. With the bed so high off the ground it makes it near impossible to take things in and out of the bed by reaching over the side(and I am 6'6"). Instead of buying a new truck earlier this year we spent $8,000 having ours rebuilt, because no one makes a pickup with a low enough bed that was usable for our business. That is one less new truck that was not sold. The commercial market carries truck sales some years when the consumer market is down, but not when products are not made for them.

Turbo engines from the 70s and 80s were problems. Modern turbos are reliable and long-lasting. Yes, eventually the turbo may need service, but that's hundreds of thousands of miles in the future. Replacing a Ford turbo is maybe a $1,600 operation. Not nothing, but hardly a dealbreaker after you've used the truck for 150,000 miles and likely spent hundreds to thousands to maintain exhaust, suspension, gaskets and other comsumables and mainteance items.

The vinyl floor I think is genius and wish it was in more trucks. To me that's a no-brainer as an option for every truck! I can't say I love the body style but I do think it's better looking than the Chevy. I think they would be very smart to offer a small V-8 in the next year. Offer people something the others do not have! Really boost your towing and hauling! Plus, it would help to sway some full size truck guys who are not happy with the HUGE full size truck and gas mileage that a lot of the customers really do not like. BEYOND anything...…………………...KEEP the price down!!! Impress people with a lower than average price and they WILL start pulling those Chevy buyers away! They are itching to be pulled away after all the crap GMC has pulled lately! They are ripe for the picking! I am really interested to see how things go for this truck. Heated front seats are available. The environment in the truck (greenhouse) gets both hotter and colder than we prefer at times. The front seats should be heated and cooled/ventilated (as options). Unknown-You put the word trucks in quotes...like anything without an 8 foot bed isn't a truck? That's a silly notion. People buy "trucks" based on need. If someone can only afford one vehicle for their family of 4...why would they not get one with 4 doors? Should they just put the kids in the car seats in the bed? I have an F-150 ext cab with a 6.5' bed. I can haul full sheets of plywood with the tailgate down. That's good enough for me...but that chore would be more difficult in a smaller truck like Tacoma or Ranger since you can't lay full sheets flat. If having an 8 foot bed is your criteria for what a real truck is, then I guess there aren't many real trucks out there driving around.
