These are easy to replace the wicks in too ! These clippers are made in PRC so overseas but that's to be expected for the price? They work well enough so why not? I prefer the original nylon butane ones personally!

How long will the fuel last in storage if you not using it, Zippos seem to last about 2 weeks for me before they have dry out in my bag Thanks

It's literally impossible for a zippo to last 2 weeks. 7 days maybe but not over a week

@@woofy8373 My Zippo can last up to 3 weeks in summer when completely filled. It all depends on the climate, the hotter and more arid it gets the faster it will evaporate

NOT a good lighter. The metal it is made is iron (or a very cheap alloy), covered in 3 layers, starting from the first you touch: wax, nickel/chrome, copper. The fist drop of fuel out of the lighter will clear the wax, then the chrome/nickel will go off then the copper, which will also create oxides. The lighter is very poor made, it has PLASTIC components inside the burner (to be more exact, the piece that holds the lighter lid. Might have a spring or something below to create tension). The bottom screw cap happends to be very loose and not screw for a tight seal (mine dropped in my pocket for several time until I have decided to trash the lighter). Have been tested the lighter (as it was described above) for like 2 or 3 weeks. It lose fluid pretty fast (same as zippo), not to mention that it is smaller than zippo (keeping less fluid). Ofc ... only my opinion, if anyone wanna buy clipper petrol lighter ... just have ^ in mind.

Any flammable liquid will work just stay away from explosive liquids like gasoline

If it burns yes. It may smell funny but it will work if the acetone you have is strong enough to burn

I'm old and don't want to mess with anything that needs refilling in 2 weeks or even 2 months if I don't have to. Pretty lighter though.

Still haven't found anything better than a $2 Bic lighter :( Fuel that evaporates is a deal breaker for a bug out/survival tool.

It may be a deal breaker till the butane tank gets cracked and now you have a fancy but weak flint and steel. While this isn't the best lighter, petrol lighters can be filled with any flammable fluid that doesn't turn the lighter into a fireball and as long as the wick is soaked and there's flint to throw a spark, it will light. I've ran my everyday Zippo with chainsaw fuel mix (smells horrible), flammable liquor, concentrated rubbing alcohol (alcohol will evaporate FAST) and lantern petroleum and it chugged it all. They say the best thing to use is Zippo brand fluid but I haven't noticed a big difference between it and other liquid fuels, it's mainly the purity that's not the same (go for the purest stuff if you smoke obviously) IMO the best idea is to take multiple cheap butane lighters and keep them in different spots so they don't all get smashed at once, but then I use my lighters for smoking and usual everyday use and don't have a bug out bag so I don't know if that'd be a good idea
