As a groomer myself, people do not truly understand the focus and patience we must have in order to do a dog in this condition. We must focus and take our time to prevent cutting the dog. I hate when people come in with dogs like this and say "just shave it." This is why I charge a lot of money to do a dog like this. If the people are going to neglect the poor animal, they are damn well going to pay for it. Many times I don't want to give the dog back and call in the ASPCA. God bless you for your patience. You are a gifted groomer.

Your honor that defense was so wacko we aren't even gonna object!!!! Your honor we want to know what the defense thinks the victim should of done had let's say ,someone thrown a gas soaked rag on him thinking he was a pile of dirty rags as did happen on 3 separate occasions, someone for one of the 2 times in the 27year home history decided to clean up the eyesore of a home and as on the 2d attempt at cleaning that hoarders dream home they grabbed the dog and threw him in to the trash thinking he was trash until the owner saw the mistake and said quote"woooooo bro do throw stinky out he my meal ticket and golden Wonka ticket outta this shit hole"as was said in interview which is on tape but if they dont have a world ugliest dog tvshow with 100,000$prize than he will win on artic city dog survivor yeah J hat lil flea and maggot factory is my way to the champagne dream n caviar wishes or whatever that like Robin leach dude use to ramble on about.objection so you admit you knew he was infested with fleas and also ticks so bad he was anemic and near death upon rescue.and your client intentionally allowed my client to become matted and a 37lb of matted hair on a 6lb dog so heavy he couldn't walk to use the restroom =objection at no time has my clients dog ever used the restroom he poops and pees where he stands gotcha your honor the defense just fell for my trap and admitted that my client had to urinate on him self and defecate on himself because he had so much hair it had no where to go upon exiting the body no could my client t even walk to a spot that he could do a normal poopoo or pee peecuz there was nowhere that exists like that. Your honor my client was a delusional potheads dream ticket to the the good life but aside from a rare feeding my client never acted as an owner should even after threats to call animal from neighbors who sometimes saw the lump of what they thought was carpet move had no other way to tell that a dog lived there other than the smell of dog poop which was cleaned up on the dog only when it rained and when he once sold his mountain of gold he called it to a professional rose grower who said it was his secret recipie to his winning Rose's cuz of the rich contents (which was due to my clients body shutting down and him not being able to digest all the food as most just passed thru the intestine like water thru as hose.my final statement and exhibit is my client just hair and insect weight .if the defense claims he was not abused ,if a broken femur from a obvious kicing wound and collar ching and lack of collar upkeep to the point where another week and my client would have simply died from asphyxiation and or infection.if he were not abused than how dow we account for a final total of 43lbs of hair when insects are included ,36after the 36lbs of hair we have 3lbs of fleas and ticks , 3.15lbs of maggots and 2 lbs of those were mango worms Ladies and gentlemen of the jury may I point out that mangoworms are not natural to california they are native of Africa, my client was intentionally infected so my client could sell the bottles as bait they do grow in San Diego I the summer because it's much like the gambian climate that is a federal crime initself.mango worms are a near impossible to rid of nuisance fly that is dangerous to our orange and avocado crop industry that is 37%of our civic economy and not to mention California's climate this bonehead =objection name calling while I tend to agree with the name u chose ,sustained this could affect the nation's fruit harvest pray it doesn't mAke it to florida.it will be the Asian carpet all over again. that does not .but back to scfuffers the tougherswhich is what the vet folks renamed him, they felt he needed a new name as shitbrain was a good name for such a gorgeous dog.but after adding all the gross worms found in his gut (almost a lb of straight worms which can transfer to humans ,include the amount of fleas and ticks that escaped or were lost down the drain during washing this is just what was saved. At 3 pounds of maggots that were eating the defendant luckily that kind of maggot leave sterile clean wounds they just look vile for his sake hes lucky they are the same fly that are used in medical applications. His 7 yo year colar line abcess which is common when dogs are on a collar and leash that is never adjusted to grow with the dog the collar begins to choke them causing a sore then abcess sore which gets infected them starts to stink badly very badly and is swarmed by flies which then then in the same place they eat. and you get maggots galore you can tell by a wound that smells putrid and hundreds of flys in the area of the head of the do.and this is torture to the pooch asit can never scratch the itch of thousands of maggots moving and eating his flesh which doesnt hurt cuz the maggot thru evolution it was given a numbing saliva that almost completely numbs the wound almost just enough feeling to itch like crazy when 5 000 of the lil maggots are squirming and eating your flesh and the veteran groomer almost threw up one she saw how many maggots there were mind you It takes 1000 maggots to make a pound the res of the insect weight were roaches living under the maggots eating their excrement when just fur ,and I remind you this is a 7lb dog but if he took such good care of this poor poor innocent helpless dependent defendant why then is the defendant now 12lbs,free of strait worms that were stuffed in his intestine that added up to ONLY2lbs has no maggots eating his flesh or supporting basically an ecosystem in his fur by mangoworms feeding birds that would come peck at his fur and eat the worms,THENthe fleas die off and ticks suck the dog dry ,no tell me how that wasn't neglect and cruelty .your honor I suggest we do aall that to him .....

My heart is breaking for this dog. The groomer is being so careful and patient. Mats hurt a dog, they keep dirt locked in the matted hair, they could get skin irritations and infections that go untreated. The hair is pulling on the skin, it smells bad and is unsanitary and not to mention undesirable to look at. It is horrible how many dogs and animals are mistreated. Thank god this one is finally getting some well needed and appreciated help and loving care.

Calla Lilly well just because she didn't cut the big parts off as she got them doesn't mean she's not a good groomer, she said she was trying to save as much hair as possible and with those mats in sure it was tangled every where SO cutting a part in a certain place may have took out a huge chunk of savable hair somewhere else.

OMG.... how could someone be so neglectful to such a well behaved and obviously loyal pup. He was so patient and handsome. I agree with many, this is animal abuse and that lil boy 🐶 deserves a loving home that will care for him as he deserves. I have tears of joy and sadness watching this. Thank you to the groomer, you did a spectacular job 👏🏾.

Yeah, some owners simply are too RIDICULOUSLY STUPID to realize that these hurt the dogs. But honestly, most of these jackasses are selfish twats anyway, so I wonder -- why do they wait so long?? Because by the time a dog is THIS matted, it SMELLS like death, feels like you're touching a giant dried turd, and it's impossible to be around for more than a couple minutes. I mean wouldn't your horribly matted dog trigger at least the selfish part of you that wants to be near a clean animal more than a disgustingly neglected one?? Seeing dogs like this that didn't literally just come off a street makes me SOMAD I just can't STAND it. I mean, there's literally no call for it, at all. Augh. You're a fantastic groomer, by the way, and thank you for all your help for this poor little guy. There's so many instances where while I'm grooming I'm all but crying and really really not wanting to give the poor dog back to its owner. :

What a shocking case of neglect! I had tears in my eyes and although you couldn't feel it I was helping you all the way. Poor baby and you can tell she is so glad to get that mess off.

What a sweet dog. Great job. Our eldest cat (16) wont take a brush, never has, but is getting to the age where he gets the odd matting on his sides where its getting harder to groom. Its a two person job to get them out (hes a big boy) but you cant let matts become an issue they hurt the animal just moving. I couldnt even imagine. Some owners dont deserve their pets.
