Alice leaves, but not so far away when Dan can't find her anymore, after this scene she's still in town and working as a stripper. At the beginning of the movie she says “I only get out of a relationship when I don’t love anymore”, even though dan cheated on her, she kept waiting for him, Larry find her and tell to Dan, and she go back to him, and dan moved by jealousy and possession asks her, wants to know the truth, and she no longer feels safe with him and she says with all the words “I don't I love you more ”and THEN she definitely gone.

I had similar scene in my life, except I was Jude Law... Didn't exactly cheat to her, but I confessed a lie I was hiding for years, which was probably even worse, and it basically end up the same. After a while I wanted her back, but there she decided she doesn't want to be with me again in a relationship. I regret for my actions to this day, hopefully one day I will forgive myself for losing what appears to be the love of my life...

What's funny is I didn't know this was a play first, but watching this scene made me think, "Man, this dialogue sounds like something from a play." I don't know how to explain it, but the dialogue is highly stylized and doesn't sound like the way real people talk. Especially when they're angry.

All 4 characters are extremely flawed. Dan is a serial cheat who becomes unsettled when he has to commit to one woman long-term, most likely due to unresolved issues with his mother. Anna is a depressant who jeopardises her own happiness with her partners to ensure she remains miserable. Larry is a misogynistic sadist who cares only about his own desires and doesn't care if everyone around him is miserable. Alice is a chameleon adopting a fake persona to suit her own agenda and to please the people around her, perhaps in an attempt to protect herself from being hurt. Of the 4 characters: - Dan is the most immature - Anna is the most lost with her life - Larry is the most brutal - Alice is the most damaged
