I appreciate this comprehensive explanation of why the "cloud first" strategy is the wrong method for determining what technologies can be used to deliver value to the organization. Although the cloud provides several benefits, including the ability to offload sporadic and bursty workloads to an enormous resource pool supplied by a public cloud, it may not be the right choice for solving the challenges faced by the business. Before a decision can be made regarding which technologies should be used to solve the challenges, it is logically necessary to truly have a deep and thorough understanding of those challenges.
