Cloud was nerfed last time. 2 materia slots with lightning (a spell Link could reflect) and fire. He was given the Buster Sword, Cloud's starting blade, and a ribbon, which was useless because Link doesn't inflict status effects, and while his armor gave him some decent stats boosts, it had no materia slots. They also made him incredibly dumb, having him spam lightning against an enemy that could reflect it. If that's not a nerfed Cloud, I don't know what is. Cloud is able to beat Sephiroth without Materia in Advent Children (someone who beat Virgil in Death Battle). And let's not forget that Cloud survived a direct hit by Supernova. Cloud should be able to destroy Link.

@@taqresu5865 Composite Link scales to Vaati, who casually created a pocket dimension. How they will interpret this however, I'm not sure as this sort of scaling depends on who you ask. "Cloud is able to beat Sephiroth in Advent Children" A weakened and freshly returned Sephiroth who was borderline bullying Cloud for 99% of the fight until the very end. The outcome of this matchup really depends on the scaling they buy for both characters.

Ok for those who keep asking YES Link vs Cloud was a fight back in S1 of DB back when they were Screwattack. Supposedly this battle isn't a re-upload with better animation like they did with Samus vs Boba Fett, but a rematch, their 2nd fight. If you never saw the original fight definitely check it out, this will let you appreciate the new fight in an animation perspective, as in a sense it is DB as a baby animator vs the now DB as a veteran animator.

The first time they cheated by using a fake non-canon reason. They claimed his powers came from evil but no where was it ever stated that entity was evil in canon. Unless official sources state other wise then that win belonged to Cloud. That's why many was none too happy with DB on that one. Cloud has survived a supernova, which to quote google answers: "A supernova is an explosion of a massive supergiant star. It may shine with the brightness of 10 billion suns! The total energy output may be 10[44] joules, as much as the total output of the sun during its 10 billion year lifetime." And beyond that Cloud has a plethora of magics and summons that properly utilized completely screw Link over; Haste, slow or stop would all render link incapable of responding to Cloud, blue magic has all kinds of horrific status ailments, Final+phoenix means that Link needs to win the fight multiple times since it gives cloud self rezzes... like there are just reams and reams of abilties that cloud has access to that crush link, particularly when you factor in that each link is distinct from the others (IE Windwalker link wouldn't have masks, Zelda 3 link wouldn't have the ocarina of time, 4 swords link actually have weapon durability unlike BOTW, etc, etc, etc)

The Mario vs Sonic 2018 was done terrible due to them using Mario's power ups wrong, having Mario create an army when the Double Cherry can only create up to five and the Starman only lasting for 30 seconds which they past the duration limit in the DB, and give him something that wasn't even canon in his series, aka the stop watch that only appears in Super Mario Bro. 2 which it was all a dream and in the Paper Mario series.

@@shadic4566 One thought I've always had a problem with in the sonic fights and the shadow fights is that they automatically gave them the 7 emeralds, they are very hard to find and get and it's strange how they gave them to sonic and shadow whereas Mario can get most of he's power ups (inc the star) a lot easier. The animations also don't contribute to the verdict, they are only a rough guide on what might happen, the cherry weren't even mentioned in the explanation and it stated that Mario had multiple ways of dealing with sonic's super forms. Mario power ups are a lot easier to get then sonics emeralds, I'ma amazed that they gave it to them at all. It's not me being biased towards one character or the other, I do like both series and played many games from both. This is just my opinion, I've seen both battles and I enjoyed both.

@@KniLsZZ Link is a joke with his subpar strength. Remember link is weak without magical items to boost his strength while cloud is strong enough that he can beat any boss with his buster sword alone. In the original FF7 I beat the entire game using his buster sword and even the mighty foe who was god like on cloud's own during the entire final boss fights(yes it can be done but hard as hell). Link can't pull that off with his starting weapon, he needs the super duper urber magical sword and shield to win(if one isn't using glitches or cheats that is). Cloud is also a great swordsman, yes the memories aren't his but the skills are. Only reason cloud lost last time was because they pulled fake reasons out their butts. They claimed Cloud's powers came from evil, something that his sword and shield reflected or prevented damage from. Yet had they done their actual research as they claimed then they would have known that was false. I replayed FF7 several times and did every mission, talked to every NPC, found every magical stone, beat every weapon, and so on. Not once did they mention the entity being evil. I also read everything I could on the entity that was canon sources and nothing said she was evil. I wouldn't be surprised if I did more research after that video then they did for all of their death battles combined, lol.

He can tank dragonfire pointblank. He can tank lasers; lightning; venom. Link can even tank giant swords that cut through stone. He can strap a bomb strong enough to turn giant boulders and stone walls into dust TO HIS FACE and take only 1/2 Heart of damage. He can wield a 3 ton ball and chain and throw it about thirty feet in a split second with enough force to shatter massive blocks of ice. He slices through trees for fun - literally lol He cuts through what appears to be blackened steel flanged plate armor like butter (Darknut). Link is a powerhouse. Cloud's just a guy with a big sword and bigger hair. He doesn't even use Materia anymore.

My one qualm about this old fight was always the gauntlets with link being their main justification about the win, I seem to remember that in the game specifically said that they didn’t make him able to hit harder or take harder hits, just lift more. It always bothered me. Even if Cloud doesn’t win again I hope there’s a better reason.

Here's my two cents on that, actually the common argument I've seen. Every time someone makes a storm cloud, or punches so hard their fist bursts into flames, scaling is used to suggest they are capable of enough raw destructive force to nuke a town, or a city. Even if the likes of all might have never wiped out a city on screen. Esdeath scaled to country level, but has she ever destroyed so much as a town with a single strike? No. Link being able to lift ten thousand tons should imply being able to hit really really hard. Add that he's fast enough to outrun explosions and dodge lasers. If someone can deliver thousands of tons of force standing, how hard could they hit moving at hypersonic or even relativistic speeds? That's like quicksilver or low level flash, only he's a lot stronger standing still than either of them.

The latter doesn't make any sense. Link or the gauntlets themselves would have to be able to withstand the pressure exerted by that much weight caused by gravity. Even if you argue he can't exert that much force, the gauntlets or Link himself would be able to withstand said pressure.

In this case, the magic is only active when attempting to lift something, and once the conditions are met, the magic does the heavy lifting. Link is at most only exerting what his maximum potential would be without the gauntlets while the enchantment holds the rest.

BotW Link does some crazy stuff from near a very young age, younger than Young Link in OoT. Think of it this way, if we had BotW Link, at the same age, and meets Ganondorf for the first time, before he ever gets into the Sacred Realm ever. He'd probably skin poor Ganondorf alive. That's kind of where we're getting at here, as far as power creep goes. And yeah, Calamity Ganon is very powerful at this point in that game. Remake Cloud, other than dealing with some time lord that's preventing him from changing the future, doesn't do that much beyond what he does in the original games anyway. It's still the same Cloud, doing pretty much the same thing, but with actual details like we would imagine him to do, if it was action rather than turn based. As a matter of fact, it could be argued that he's weaker, considering the start of the game, where that bomb the guys place didn't blow up that sector like it did originally in the original game. And that everything is dragged out further, because Sephiroth likes giving Cloud daily ptsd, and trying to do something different, but time ghosts say no.
