Great review! I’ve been using Cloudray fiber lasers for about 3 years now and have been very pleased. I just recently got their new pro series MP-60 fiber laser and have a review of it on my channel. I had a lot of the same impressions as you, and was quite impressed by the packaging quality, build quality, and ease of setup.

Thank you for your review. I’ve been planning to get one from cloudray for months now but tbh laser machines aren’t cheap. 😅 hopefully I will be able to get one next year. I live in the UK and the inflation is going crazy so fingers crossed things will get better, otherwise I will never be able to afford one.

Great review. I am currently deciding which of the following would be suitable for engraving Titanium, Stainless steel, gold and silver wedding rings. I will also occasionally need it for a cutout in thinner gold sheet (approx 1mm thick sheet). Cloudray QS-50 (50W Raycus laser) or Cloudray MP-60 (JPT 60W M7 MOPA laser)

I have this machine but the older version. The LMA serting are all waybto hot. Can you do more on this machine by going over setting like z mark and powder coating tumblers. Also the material setting in tools saved me on this machine. If you could review that also please.

Kyle got the same impression, was a little toasty. The conversion from the starter settings really put this source into its power curve it seems haha. We'll be doing more tuning, testing and material trials with all the lasers including this one. Lots and lots of projects on the horizon. For the material test tool, we have a video here on it, though we showed it off with a co2 gantry. It works identically to fiber though, just more options to test: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZ3JqX6YhdpjfKM

H Thanks for your time putting out this video. Need some advise here. Want to buy this or 30w machine for stailess steel marking. specifically knifes. This machine offer high definition on the markings? not for large batchs so what laser machibe would do the job? thanks in advance!!
@LaserEverything
@LaserEverything 2 ай бұрын
You have options, and its going to depend on your expectations and what you're looking to get out of it. This 50w machine or a 30w even can absolutely do knife engraving without issue. High definition isn't really the problem at this wattage range (as long as you're using a realistic lens). Really the key factors you'll probably want to consider are engraving area, depth, and time to determine a realistic wattage. Next, do you need something specialized/specific (in the case of stainless, are you looking for extensive color marking, or just generic engraving). After that, make sure you're going with a good brand for warranty/build quality/etc to reduce headaches down the road (and how long that road without headaches is likely to be). How big of an area do you NEED to mark. The bigger the area, the bigger the lens, also mean the bigger the wattage needed to perform the same task. How deep do you need to engrave? Are you looking to go something like .05mm to .2mm into material, or super deep like 1mm+? smaller lenses allow for more power to be laid into the material (if it will take it without ruining the surface), so if you can use a smaller lens such as a 70 or 110mm work area lens to complete the job, this helps with efficiency, especially with lower wattage machines. How fast do you anticipate needing to go? If you are doing basic surface marking where depth has no requirement, this is very fast. If you need to go very deep however, this can take many passes and time, to maintain a quality engraving and surface finish. Something to weigh, if this is a hobby, or if you plan to utilize this for business, and what kind of timeframes you're willing to put into a single item and the value it may have. In regard to this machine, we've been getting great results with it and it's been rock solid so far. We do have lots more time and testing to do, so full review is still to come. That said, If it fits your needs and what you're looking for, we haven't had any reason to this point to discourage it or anything. Hope that helps! We do offer a consultation one on one (details on our website) if you feel like you need help weighing your needs and balancing them against what machines/features and configurations might best fit.

I'm a little late to the party, but I'm hoping to get some solid advice. I'm new to the laser industry and wanted to provide laser cleaning services as well as engraving. That being said, would it be ideal to purchase a desktop fiber laser, start small, and gradually work my way to a handheld laser machine?
@LaserEverything
@LaserEverything 3 ай бұрын
Nah, you're right on time :) It kind of depends on your market and what you want to start offering first (and what will be in demand to get you going). For example, if you plan on getting a handheld laser cleaner for doing something like boat cleaning or industrial cleaning applications, the warehouses/production facilities that would need that aren't going to be "seasonal", but boat cleaning kind of has a busy season and off season. When the boat is in the water, you won't be using a laser to clean them, so its typically when they are dry docked in the off season. If you're not going the cleaner route and going with a handheld style one for marking stuff portably (like doing lockers, marking metal pipes in facilities, machinery tagging), then that can sometimes double up as a desktop laser by being mounted to an arm. You'll have to check on design compatibility for that, not all of them do that, but something to consider. Usually portable backpack ones, you'll be paying a premium for portability while also being limited on power, where as a desktop one, its kind of the typical setup and comes at less of a premium. You can usually find jobs/marking opportunities on a desktop laser year round, while cleaning "can" be seasonal, industrial cleaning is going to be based on finding clients and usually getting PO approvals ahead of time so they have an approved spending budget for your services, and portable marking laser (instead of cleaning laser) is going to often be limited to the same but has the benefit of potential cross use as a main desktop laser if needed. I can't say what will work best for you or your desires/business plan, but I'd weigh out what is going make more sense for return investment on a reliable basis. If you have clients lined up for repeat services for one of those, or have a business plan that has the ability to support you year round and not seasonally, that is going to help get you a return on investment sooner and get you into another machine if you want sooner that can expand your offerings. If it were me, A desktop machine is likely going to be easier to either do a job shop or make products with for a larger customer base up front, and can always expand later.

Will this laser be suitable for challenge coins.
@northegbert8126
@northegbert8126 5 ай бұрын
Absolutely, it took me about an hour to make the coins, about 3-4mm deep, using the same type of machine and 110mm lens that Kyle reviewed, and I'm very happy with the results.

@@northegbert8126with the default lens, on objects bigger than a challenge coin & maybe only 2mm total deep, I realize it would take longer, but can I do it with the default lens? Do deep engraves in metal & stone?
