I was really happy to see the father talk with the cops and then just walk away leaving her to get arrested, not get all up in the cops faces trying to push his wealth around. At least one person in her family seemed to respect what the cops were doing right then.

Just imagine if the dad was drinking too so he didn't get to close or involved because he was drinking. Wouldn't that be something? He probably wasn't but the thought crossed my mind. 🤷🏾‍♂️

@@evrettej That's very true. I would to have seen the daughter's face if dad had been drinking and got arrested to. Not only did her "call to daddy" not work, but then to also get him thrown in jail. smh

The fathers prolly thinking “it’s about time” he’s prolly fed up with her entitled behavior and hopes this will scare her enough to want to grow up. He’s prolly the only one I the family that tries to discipline her but it doesn’t work. (Idk, just thinking out loud lol)

I love how he sounds exasperated. You just hear him sigh lol. He reminds me a bit of Veruca Salt's dad from Willy Wonka: he got a bad egg, and he probably didn't help along the way. This is like the moment when she stands on top of the egg weighing machine, and this arrest is her getting dumped down into the garbage incinerator while "BAD EGG" flashes in red (and blue) lights.

Honestly, I think this is too much. You just got to address the situation with common sense, that's all. No need to become best buddies and godfather to the children of the cop who stopped you. Just be calm and patient and let him or her do their job. My motto is: I'm not a Dillinger, I don't rob banks and have shootouts with the police, so when I'm in trouble, it's almost certainly not that bad and dramatic by default and not worth it to have any sort of additional confrontation or bad blood. Some people are just magnets for any sort of drama. And taking off twice after being stopped by the police is one of the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Life is not GTA, ffs, just have some common sense and everything will be alright (if you are not a real criminal, that is). Also. 24 y.o. woman is not a teen by any stretch of imagination.

My dad used to say that too. Didn’t stop me from outrunning them 5 times when I was in my 20s. It eventually caught up with me though. @@DizzleDog 🤣 I hear yah. I did it once. I’m coming up an on ramp onto the highway. When I hit the top of the ramp I was doing 90mph in 3rd gear. The cop was in the emergency lane doing 0mph. I did some quick math in my head and said fuck it, if I pull over I’m at least catching a DUI. I went around a turn where I couldn’t see his lights in my mirror, got off at the next exit, made 2 lefts, 2 rights, or whatever random shit I did, put it in park, laid my seat all the way back and took a 2hr nap.

It all depends. The best way that works for me is only run if you’re close to the end of the street and the cop is about a block back or so. Take off, make the first right and immediately drive into the first lot or driveway with your car already in manual so you can turn it off before it’s at a complete stop that way you can focus on getting the door open to hop out and act like a pedestrian. But also you need to know your streets bc it won’t work if you turn right and there’s no lots or driveways 😂parking on the sidewalk would be too obvious. Also don’t run if you don’t have too. Only reason I’ve ran is for having stuff in the car but please don’t if you don’t have to just take the ticket you never know if there’s gonna be another cop around the corner so don’t take the chance for no reason

As an alcoholic in recovery, I can empathize with drunk people, but im not excusing nor sympathizing with them, but once you enter blacked out territory, you don't know what you're doing, you don't remember anything, at all even in the moment, you're on autopilot but you're not in a good autopilot. Idk how to explain it. It's like you get possessed. You do/say things that normally you seriously can't even imagine actually doing/saying. Most people don't get to the blackout stage, so I've realized that bc of that, most people can't actually comprehend how fucked up it is. It's terrifying. So considering how bad I used to be, I have a LOT of patience with intoxicated people. It'll be hypocritical of me if I wasn't.

My dad died when I was 20 and I WISH I could feel as dependent on my dad as this. I don’t usually vocalize stuff like this because everyone’s situation in life/family is different and there’s no point in comparing, but this video made me so bitter. If the number of times this girl could spend with her dad were limited, I hope she wouldn’t be wasting them on stupid, mindless disruptions like this. I was a daddy’s girl one day and then lost my best friend & guide in life the next. I’m 22 now and still spend every day wishing I could see my dad again even for just one mundane conversation, even just one walk around the block, just one meal, sing along to just one song, anything. I wouldn’t wish loss like that on ANYONE, but I couldn’t help but think she’s in for a rude awakening one day, and I am jealous that she gets to see her dad over something stupid when I can’t even see mine no matter how much I wish for it. Sorry to project. Just had to let it out

I had a sudden and tragic loss of my husband at 34. (I know that it is different from the loss of your father. And you are much younger too 😢) I mentioned that to say this: This kind of loss rips the veils of the universe apart for you. This rips all sense of order and security from you. I am 12 years out now. You are only 2 years out from this. I hope that you are ok. Just hang in there as much as you can. I don't want to say it gets better, but more acceptance comes over time. I wish the best for you. ❤ (Let the anger and bitterness wash over you when it comes. But don't let it stay. Fight so that it doesn't stay inside of you.) I wish that I could hug you!

I’ve seen that story. It never ceases to amaze me how narcissistic some folks can be. My parents were adamant about not driving drunk. All I had to do was call them and up until I was 41, I did. No questions asked. They were happy to be of service. Of course that was before Ubers. There is just no excuse for driving drunk. I felt so winded by that story, she was a beautiful woman on her very special day. To be taken like that makes me question why on so many levels.

Last time I ended up at the station Bruce's mantra was invaluable, not even in the USA, just politely asked for a solicitor and waited patiently until she turned up,even though you could almost feel the hostility radiating from the police officers, (i'm sure its that feeling of discomfort which causes so many people to abrogate their rights to remain silent and to be accompanied by legal counsel. Told me not to answer questions and was on hand to interject if there was any funny business. Walked out afterwards with no further action. When I was much younger I landed myself in prison (not for very long, it wasn't crime of the century) because I was induced to confess to something I hadn't done simply because I couldn't remember what had happened and thought that if I was in the station, handcuffed, they must have something solid that I had done it. Nope, literally one person's word against another. You live and learn I suppose but I certainly wish Bruce's channel had been around back then...

Her lines were great, but it's like Bruce said, it's verrrrry similar to what brain injury looks like. We don't know how smart or dumb she is when not shitfaced. But being as shiftfaced as she is, she can't form coherent thoughts or even understand what's happening. This is why I have never really gotten into alcohol as an intoxicant - feeling like you don't know what's going on isn't a tempting high for me at all. Like at least with (so I've heard) something like magic mushrooms you get to experience a hyper reality unlike anything you can see in life. Your advice about not running from the police is absolutely correct. I used to teach extremely high risk young adults and most of them had a history of incarceration. One of my young men, who had spent years injecting heroin into his neck (because using his arm took too long), and consequently had lost far more brain cells than was advisable, told me with complete seriousness that you never run from the cops because "they get gaucho pissed."

Bruce, I wholeheartedly agree with you on police chases. Our family was touched by this years ago & it's heartbreaking. We had a family member that JUST picked up her 8 year old son. As she was driving thru an intersection where she had the right of way a speeding car comes out of nowhere narrowly avoids hitting her. Next thing she knows she is waking up to EMT's trying to put a neck brace on her & extract her from the car while another one has pronounced her little boy dead in the back seat & she loses it. What happened was the car that missed her was in a high speed chase with the police & the car that t-boned her was a Denver City police officer. She ended up losing not only her son but her eye & has permanent disabilities from injuried sustained in that crash. When she lawyered up & sued Denver PD for the accident, the department charged her with child abuse & neglect resulting in death of a child because she failed to yeild the right of way to an officer. And 1 of the claims the DPD tried to make was her son was not properly fastened in the car. According to them he should've been sitting in the center of back seat, not by the door. She ended up winning her lawsuit & her lawyer successfully argued to make Denver PD remove "To Protect And Serve" from all of their vehicles. So if you live in Denver, Colorado & ever wondered why the cop cars no longer have that on it, thats why. They killed an innocent 8 year old little boy during a hugh speed chase thru the city.

@mattjack3983 I was thinking the same thing, that the young woman has been coddled her whole life, by her dad, bigtime. Seems probable. Almost certain. As a scientist, I view this logical deduction that I just made, that the woman was coddled by her dad, as a hypothesis and not as a conclusion. As a scientist, before upgrading my hypothesis to a conclusion, I would want to gather evidence that supports the hypothesis. But in living every day of course I don't always have time to do that. Situations may arise that require a reaction from me, based upon my hypotheses, rather than upon my conclusions. I would imagine that a police officer has to do this too, more often than I have to do it. Seems like indeed that could be a difficult job, policing! Now, in the scenario we see here, I don't think it matters whether the woman was coddled by her dad or not. Perhaps it might come into play however when she goes to court, where her lawyer might try to use it in her defense somehow.
