Your right about the ccl. When we teach that class it is drilled into everyone that 90% of the time if you drew a firearm you failed. There is always an opportunity to break contact before that. If you have an ego problem, getting a ccl is not something you need. Someone calls you some names, insults you, disrespects you...and you cant walk away. If your like that, carrying is just a recipe to get some significant prison time.

@@randomguy1371All of that is absolutely correct, though some states let you 'stand your ground' but the laws vary as well. I live in Texas and if you're beyond the threshold of your front door and have verbally warned the person to leave, you do have the right to defend your property with a firearm. Though just the same I do not recommend doing this unless your life is in danger, as life is more valuable than property, and stuff like that always has a drawn out legal situation even if you're legally in the right.

He somehow thinks if something happens he will be the hero, or that if he sees someone doing something he thinks is wrong he will stop it. Daddy was a Marine from 1941-1961 (when I was born). He always said, "Guns are good for only one thing: Turning living things into dead things. If you're not intending to kill something, DO NOT POINT A GUN AT ANYTHING. And if you do aim at something, aim for center mass and aim to kill. Aiming to wound is a good way to get yourself killed, whether you're shooting a wild animal, or shooting at someone who's trying to kill you." "Always assume the gun is loaded. Always assume an assailant can overpower you and take your gun away from you. Guns are not toys. If you want to learn to shoot, you have to learn how to take the gun apart and clean it and load it. Then, you have to take a gun safety course. Only then will I take you out target shooting." "And if I determine you're a bad shot, and can't hit a target, I'm not going to let you go hunting with me. If you can't kill the animal with the first shot, all you're doing is torturing the animal." He was a great hunter, and we really needed all the meat he brought home. But he wasn't going to let any of us 6 kids treat guns like they were toys.

@@clairenollet2389 I heard many of the same things from my own father. I started using guns at age 8. But only after having proper gun discipline drilled into me. I moved away from the farm to university in the big city, and left my (grandfather's) double barrel shotgun behind (in the case I had made for it in woodwork class at school). When dad retired from the farm he asked if I wanted the gun. There was no feasible reason for having it. So it sold at the clearing sale for the farm (this was well before gun rules tightened (a lot) here in Australia). Consequently, I have not fired a gun in 47 years. I have never felt the lack.

My dad was a competitive clay pigeon shooter who also cleared rabbits for farmers. I started learning firearm etiquette from kindergarten (including not even pointing fingers in the shape of a gun at people), and was first allowed to handle one at 8. This was in Australia just before the gun laws came in. I am thankful that the laws are so strict here, because I’ve seen people handle firearms who haven’t had proper training. They’re scary.

I'm not someone who's against gun ownership in any way, but it's alarming how many stories I've heard of people losing their shit over trivial things and pointing a gun at someone (especially against retail or food service employees). I know it's easier said than done, but there's gotta be a way to mitigate that, to avoid needless threats and violence.

I've never had anyone brandish a weapon but I have had similar experiences with people in cars. I hate parking lots where you have to basically cross a speedway on foot to get to a store/building. No one wants to fully stop. They continue to creep up on you like their foot can't slip off their brakes. People are morons in parking lots and on the road. She only got caught because she was stupid enough to remain in the same location. 😂

I always like watching your channel, because your logic, your rhetoric and your sense of humor remind me of my father at your age. Of course, now I'm your age, lol. He had firearms when I was young for shooting at the range. He was also former military and into martial arts, and taught us from a young age how to protect ourselves,, disarm opponents, etc. He always said, "Don't ever pull out a weapon unless your life is on the line, and its them or you. And once you've drawn a weapon, realize it will probably end with you or them going down. So don't ever do it lightly"

More people than you would think carry guns ( especially in their purses. ) every day. I worked as an RN in a texas psychiatric hospital. And we staff always walked around the security check at the entrance. One day. The subject came up and my co worker revealed her gun to me. She told me several others names, and when i got pulled to work another unit, the nurses there said " Of course we have guns. Thats why were extra strict that patients ( ' scuse me, clients!) can't come in our break room ( purse storage area )I said isnt that illegal? They looked hard at me and said,"Who's gonna tell??"😮😮
