Thanks for the video. Question: is there any service to the ignition system, such as plug wire replacement, etc. Do these engines have a conventional distributor with a cap and points or are they some type of solid state unit...? Any service..? And is there any service to the drive axle or a transmission --- like fluid changes..? I see you replaced the drive belt so I assume there is no conventional transmission.

Hi Great video which deals with a good all round service. Could you tell me the size of the 2 bolts on the valve cover as my socket set can’t undo the bolts as there is not enough clearance between the bolt and the cover recess for my socket to fit over. Did you use a box spanner and if so can you tell me what size you used? Many thanks

How do you know when you need to change the drive belt? What are the symptoms of a worn drive belt?

Belt slipping, belt fraying on the edges or curling up. Speed slowing down and loss of torque.

Barry Wilson , I measured my belt today. It measured 13/16 inch wide. I think it is supposed to be a one inch belt. I am going to order plan a new belt.

I have a Club Car 1986 with a Kawasaki engine 8.2 hp. ( so I was told) Question is, when the engine gets warmed up real good it loses power. We do all the maintenance on this cart. I am wondering if it is O L D or does it need overhauled or what. Any ideas will be helpful. thanks. Jim in Ohio

This first thing I would do is to check the compression. Make sure you are pushing over 125 lbs. Most likely the engine is old and tired and needs new rings, gaskets and seals.

Hello, I have a question & hope I can get your response. I have a 2002 EZ-GO TXT Shuttle. It ran great but recently we had some family over and while I was off fishing they took it for a ride. 6 full grown adults in total, to make the story short now my EZ-GO runs at a top speed of 8-10 miles and wont even go up hill. Any suggestions on what it can be? I have checked the belts, adjusted valves, checked ignition, checked batteries, checked spark plugs, compression is good at around 180, any info might help me thanks. I did noticed that the fuel filters dont fill up with gas would it be a clog or bad fuel pump? Thanks for your time

I always use ethanol free premium just like in all my small engines whether it's my chainsaw, lawn mower etc. Far fewer carb problems + more hp

5 to 7mm deflection. Tight.

DIY Golf Cart I got her nice and tight but it is squealing when slowing down and sometimes under load going up hills. I have a power spring from red hawk in the driven clutch and severe duty drive and starter belts. could it be the clutch or drive belt squealing? doesn't squeal at start up just when slowing down mostly. when I hit the brakes it doesn't squeal as long as when I just let it come to a stop by itself. both belts are new gforce and also a new starter. thanks for the quick response on original question

Sounds like it's the Drive Belt squealing under a load. Check the Clutch Plates for grease or any other debris that could cause that noise issue.

there is a dark area around the whole about a inch from the top of the inner clutch plate wear it squeals on acceleration and when you let off. not sure if its worn or its the type of belt im using. tthey are clean and smooth though.
