Great video Brad. If you wanted to keep the finish look for the club like at 1:07, how would you do that?
@BradMeehan9 ай бұрын
You can finish it with a brushed metal look, then nickel plate over that. The markings will still be there. Same theory as when I sand blast the face and plate over it - it still looks matte.
@jackhoughton88689 ай бұрын
@@BradMeehan Thank you, makes sense. So skip the polishing step and then nickel plate. I am really looking at starting this a ‘side hustle’ but just need the nudge to go out and try it!

Love seeing this stuff, it’s got me tempted to try it myself. How does the strip and bright nickel finish compare to stripping and replating chrome?
@BradMeehan2 жыл бұрын
Chrome is harder than nickel, but the bright chrome in its appearance is comparable to chrome. "Regular" nickel has a yellow-ish tint to it, but bright nickel looks shiny and, well, 'bright'.
@thomasb1322 жыл бұрын
@@BradMeehan got it. When working with the deburring wheel and sanding after stripping, are you down to the bare metal or a nickel layer? Or does it really matter if you’re going to refinish anyway?

what solution you used to remove the stain?

It's muriatic acid. Sold in the paint department.

I got rid of all social network stuff about 7 years ago. I'm in the digital biz for work and it's made me anti-social network.

Realistically, most players won't notice or care and are just lucky to make solid contact a few times per round. But 5 grams isn't insignificant and probably needs to be corrected with tip weights since that's about 2.5 swing weight points. Pretty much an automatic hard step in flex if not accounted for. But, most golfers wouldn't notice or care especially when their clubs look that gorgeous.

Thanks, Nick. I call into the category of not being able to notice. I'm not good enough!

So 4 Cheetos will make a 2 point or so difference on the swing weight scale! Tiger might be able to sense the 4 Cheetos, but not I!

Who’s to say what they weighed brand new, the rust could have added weight from factory and your measurement could be closer to what they were new.
