Real steam with a ghosting diesel the correct way to run a heritage rail tour.

Yes, and they needed it, provides more videos as well 😂

Always best to see a departure instead of racing past trees. Well done! Unfortunately just leaving Plymouth it failed to make it up Hemerdon Bank and needed the diesel assistance.
@fphtrains8 ай бұрын
Thanks, yea it was a shame about it up hemerdon as the whole point was that it’s going solo 😂

@@fphtrains Yes that's the point...they have to get it all right..Coal, driver, fireman, engine in good shape - then it should be no real problem

Nice shots. Would you be interested the shot being included in a project we are doing? It's called 'Steam Driver's Eye View'.

The Catles were sweet little engines full of character - the chocolate and cream livery so evocative. If nationalisation does come about (please) it would be great to return to proper regional liveries, ok a logistical nightmare but lets bring some fun back into modern travel.
@fphtrains8 ай бұрын
I would like nationalisation as well, hopefully stops stuff like 800s 😂, I can agree castles agree great

Agreed - but I don't think "fun" of any kind whatever figures in the mindset of those proposing re-nationalisation.

Brilliant captures there, definitely a good day for that line!! Me being me, the 47 definitely would have stolen the show for me, always more of a diesel guy myself but Clun Castle was definitely impressive there! 😎👍 Great video mate!

@@fphtrains it was brilliant! Fair enough about Clun Castle by the way! Sorry I didn't mean to sound rude if I did, I just mean I prefer diesels in general, but the video was brilliant with great tones and a lovely whistle! 👍👍

@@fphtrains fair enough, I do like both of course, but if I had to pick between the two it would be diesels for sure

Dear Sir, please tell me what is “sweet”about Clun Castle? Yes it is a handsome machine as most GWR locomotives were. Sweet is hardly the right adjective to describe it .Being born in Bristol and lived in the West Country for most of my life I do feel that I have a qualified opinion.
