I was very fortunate to have lived in Portland and watch Clyde's career. Amazing player and person. One of my all time favorite lifetime moments was randomly passing him in a concourse at an airport after he had retired, shaking his hand and thanking him for all the wonderful moments he brought to the franchise and myself as a fan. I was so happy for him to finally get a ring even if it wasn't with the Trail Blazers. Class act bar none.

I worked at a local night club in Portland in the early to mid 90's which drew alot of Blazers as well as other nba players and Clyde happened to come in a few times.. The man was a gentleman and very humble.. Was fun to talk basketball with him and he said just about the same thing in this interview as he did that night we chatted about the Bowie/Jordan draft situation.. Then I brought up the "what if" about drafting Barkley and he just smiled and laughed.. Class act all the way Clyde...🤙

When true, top-notch professionals like Drexler and Jordan get up for playing each other, it's going to be a lot more than just head-to-head scoring. Yes, there'll be a lot of that. But also plenty of defense, rebounding, and beautiful dish-offs to open teammates.

Good to see the man with one of the nastiest jams I have ever seen is also a thoughtful gentleman. Now rewind back when he played with the Houston Cougars in college and he leaped clean over little Andre Turner's entire person 😂 he never hesitated, slowed down from the moment he got the ball he dashed straight for the basket. It appears he never even saw Andre Turner in front of him. He had already made up his mind, "it's going down!" He had so much force that he had to hang on to the rim to keep from flying into outer space somewhere.

As a Portland fan, the city loved Drexler. Game was built around effort and athleticism, super fun to watch. In Portland, we always recognized he wasn't as good as Jordan, though. Except in 92. That was his peak form and he really was the 2nd best player in the NBA at that point. He would routinely do Jordan type stuff that season, single handedly winning games for the Blazers and carrying the team when they needed carrying. In Portland, it really felt like maybe he could surpass Jordan that year. Couldn't have drawn it up any better, meeting in the Finals to determine for real. Then Jordan pulls 6 threes out of his jock in game 1 and pretty much put the nail in the coffin on that debate. It was fun to dream on for a season. He never quite glided to that personal level again, but he turned back the clock for the 95 Houston run, getting awfully close to his peak 92 form. Even though it was for the Rockets, it was fun watching him reach that level one last time. Great career and great player. There really hasn't been a player resembling him since. Even Jordan later had a doppelganger of sorts in Kobe. There's been no one quite like the Glide. If he has a comp, you'd have to go the other way in time and I think he's similar to Dr J, although, not quite at his level.

Jordan was a great player in college but honestly, nobody thought at the time he’d be all time great. Big men were more sought after then too that’s why Hakeem was picked first. Sam Bowie covered up a lot of his physical problems. He played hurt most of his career even when he played. And Portland made the same mistake almost 25 years later when they picked Greg Oden. He was a big and clumsy lumbering player who simply outsized everyone in college. And like Bowie, he was always hurt.

Clyde was a talented player, but never really close to Jordan's level In todays game, he'd be equivalent to a Paul George. Really a #2 on a championship team. He was perfect with the Rockets, being #2 to The Dream, which led to a 1995 title. If he's your #1, you aren't winning any rings, and he didn't, but he definitely added value.

Clyde was grest but he's certainly not almost every bit as talented as Jordan 😂. Thats crazy. Jordan is number 1 on the Official NBA top 75 GOAT list. Clyde is not even top 40. As far as the League promoting Jordan more; Jordan simply earned more accolades. The League didn't make Jordan win the Scoring title 10 times, the DPOTY, the Steals Title 3 times or win First team All-defensive 9 times. They didn't promote Jordan into winning 6 Finals MVP's. He earned that.
