Imagine though being the child of the founder of one of the more hateful religious movements in recent American history. It is doubtful that either of those girls had much of a choice in their participation in this freak show. When you are indoctrinated into the hate of a religious movement from a young age it can be all consuming and even more difficult to break away from. The difficulty of breaking free from indoctrination should be fairly evident when you look around and see how many people still keep on holding on to racist ideologies that they have been taught by their families for generations even in the face of seeing that the crap of those ideologies is not true. It is unfortunate that the WBC still exists and it is sad that only one of the two young girls was able to open her eyes to see the hate and turn away from it. When you have a figure of authority like a parent teaching you these things and preaching these things to others and making you come along to present it on a world stage, saying no to your mother isn't always possible. It's absolutely fortunate that she eventually was able to break away from this horrible way of life.
