In this video I will show you the full CNC machining process for the shown part.
The part will completely done in one setup. The back face is just sandpapered after the cut.

Me Too! I own a machine shop, and I find my self watching other machine shops. I learn a lot from other peoples tool strategies. Million ways to make something, and I tend to find some folks have found a better way than I.

I know exactly what you mean, I basically do the same after work -- watch cnc on KZbin :)) and i don't think that my toolholders are higher value than your machines ;)

Wieder (wie immer eigentlich) tolles Video. Da konnte ich wieder 3 oder 4 neue Dinge aufschnappen, die ich noch nicht kannte. Der D16 Master... Schlichtfräser hinterlässt ne 1A Oberfläche! Klasse!

The good thing here is that it is a solid ring so the 0,05mm (0,002") are enough as it will be super stable you even could to small chamfering after it (but really only smaller ones). But I really need a hammer to get it off I can't do it by pushing.

Super Content! Genial, wie du jedes Werkzeug und alle erforderlichen Schnittparameter ersichtlich machst. Ich mag deine Bearbeitungsstrategien ;) Der schnitt und der Kamera Winkel ist echt Super! Vielleicht machst du mal ein Video in dem du z.B. die innenseite der Taschen 5-Achsig Simultan entgratest, oder zeigst uns sogar ein kleines Programmier Video! Zum glück hattest du keinen verschleiss auf deinem Gewindeformer xD Gruss Aus der Schweiz.

Beautiful result, lovely machine. So how did you de-bur that .05 ring for completion? A quick linish on 1000G paper??

thank you! You are right I just put it on a 800 sand paper to get it off takes less then 20 seconds :)

One of the best videos showing the real part production process. Just curious if the chamfer mill can chamfer the the bottom of part after slot mill? Or it will have a huge chatter?

Thank you! The chamfering on the button is done with the forward/ backward debur tool. You see that it runs twice, so 1. Is with an extra minus in Z and a plus in xy so that the second run only takes in XY around 0.03mm

Hi klasses Bauteil und Fräsarbeit. Frage zu den Spannbacken beim Schraubstock. Das die in der breite genau zum Bauteil passen Zufall? Oder habt ihr da eine Auswahl an Spannbreite. Oder werden die von euch angepasst. Obwohl kleine Kontaktspuren zu sehen sind sehen sie nach Kaufteile aus.

Vielen Dank! Die Spannbacken sind tatsächlich Standard, ist hier Zufall dass Sie so gut passen. Bei dem Schraubstock bekommst du die in 38mm (hier gezeigt) 70mm und 100mm (sowie 120mm weich) Ich glaub ich mach mal ein Video zu dem Schraubstock der ist wirklich spitze.

Tolles Video... kleiner technologischer Fehler... die Fase am Gewinde kommt vor dem Gewindeschneiden oder Gewindeformen.

vielen Dank! beim schneiden kannst du das zu erst locker machen das stimmt, beim formen hätte ich Zuviel das die Verformung des Materials durch an der Fase abzeichnet.

5.00min in, that was cool. I’m new to learning CNC, and using that double edge chamfer tool, then slitting saw was a cool trick to see. What is that double edge chamfer tool called please? And did you leave tabs during the slitting operation so the part did not get thrown off to the side? Thanks 🙏

Another great video! Why do you stop rotating the boring bar at the bottom of the hole?

Are you serious? If the bar was still rotating during retraction it would make a light 'spring pass' cut (probably with variable surface finish) and take longer. So to stop rotation, move bar in X or Y a fraction and retract it clear of the work has a faster and more certain result.

Thank you, James. Carl described it right why I stop the spindle, If you look closed you even can see that the bar will make a 0,1mm movement away from the surface so that this won't get damaged.

Ist der Werkzeughalter für den M3 Gewindeformer ein regulärer Schnellwechsler, oder erfüllt der auch tatsächlich eine dämpfende Funktion beim formen? Bin mir sicher dass das bestimmt schon jemand geschrieben hat, aber ist es nicht besser zuerst zu bohren u. Gewinde zu fertigen und im Anschluss das innere wegzufräsen? Der Radius am Ende der Bohrung belastet die Bohrer doch in der Regel eher. Zum Gewinde schneiden in M3 ist das einzige auf meiner Arbeitstelle reguläre M3 Gewindebohrer in Schnellwechsel Aufnahme :(. Hatte vor die billigsten M3 Gewindeformer und Gewindefräser (diese Interpolar Helikal verfahrenden) zu bestellen, um zu schauen was von beidem länger hält.

ja das ist ein minimalmengen Ausgleichsfutter, nehm ich bei kleinen Gewinden / Steigungen recht gern schon allein when der höheren Drehzahlen.

how do you program this transition <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="66">1:06</a>...<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="67">1:07</a> with SolidCAM? I was programming 5x machines with SC but never seen options for this transitions between different angle around A axis!

I have programmed an option in the PP to do that, but it is quite dangerous as it won't get simulated.

@@max_eley it is a standard function but you need to get it into CAM for a link connection this bring some tricky stuff with it, so i would not recommend it as standard

@@max_eley yeah, but Heidenhein has option Fmax and than you can control feed if nothing else. I know that software like hyperMILL have those crazy transactions but I am not sure how it gets simulated when it runs between different operations.

@@neznamkaj My iTNC 530 only allows F AUTO for plane spatial and plane vector, F MAX just error blocks. it cant be simulated, i think vericut can simulate it.

I have to say that they are probably not cheap, but reliable and the biggest reason is their application engineer he gives me an unpayable big resource of knowledge :)

schickes Video! Hätte aber noch Anmerkungen/Fragen. Kannst Du uns bei dem Teil mal zeigen, wie das innere Entgraten an der Maschine klappen würde? Also die Freiformfasen. Und es wäre schön, wenn die Schnittdaten etwas länger sichtbar sind, ich hab meistens erst geguckt, als schon Imperial da stand :D

Wenn die inneren Kanten erreichbar gewesen wären, hätte er das sicherlich mit dem 90grad Fasenfräser gemacht. Aber scheinbar ging das einfach nicht. Wenn du genau hinguckst siehst du dass er die inneren Kanten scheinbar von Hand mit dem Luftschleifer gemacht hat 6:15 . MfG

@@DancingMachine1 ja das habe ich gesehen. Aber er zeigt ja schon sonst schicke 5Achsverfahrwege, dann wäre es doch sicherlich auch möglich gewesen mit einem Kugelfräser die Innenkanten zu entgraten? Genau das finde ich nämlich immer interessant!

Vielen Dank! Innere Kanten sind tatsächlich gar nicht so viel schwerer. Bei diesem Teil wäre es wie @DancingMachine1 gesagt hat am einfachsten mit einem Kugelfräser von außen. Aber ich habe leider grade keinen da :) Ich hatte hier in kleines "Zeitproblem" für die Schnittwerte xD da ich den Werkzeugwechsel ohne Referenzpunkt gemacht habe also immer direkt angefahren bin, hatte ich hier keine Pufferzeit. Ich weiß nicht ob ich beim nächsten wieder den klassischen Weg nehm dann gibts die wieder länger.

It's devilish.... on a conventional milling machine, these works are either very difficult to perform or impossible! What are these technologies? What materials are used for milling cutters?

Hi Serge! thank you, of course those parts are not designed to run them on conventionals, but with the actual 5x technology you really can to amazing things. Same with carbide cutters!

Curious Why you guys use TiAlN coated cutter with aluminium? Geometry is wrong for the material and aluminium binds easily to the coating?

True words, but sometimes I need to use that coating as there aren't too many options available. And those finishing cutters are mainly designed for steel, but they are pretty sharp, so as long as you cool them, you are all good.

Hey, vielleicht siehst du das noch. Warum genau lässt du so viel Rohmaterial übrig? Ist es wirklich effizienter für dich, das übrig zu lassen und zu recyclen anstatt mit so wenig Verlust wie möglich zu arbeiten?

So viel ist es gar. Ich’s sind glaub 4 oder 5mm :) wenn ich’s dünner macht geht mir n bisschen die Stabilität des Sockels verloren :)

how did you make the link between operation with same tool,is it machine control operation?No MB MAX

I did program me several options in the SolidCAM PP to choose which way the machine should handle the link between different angles.

@@BavariaCNC do you proof with an external g-code simulator your program.i also tried but with MCO at least i see some movement in SolidCAM but never worked.Is SolidCAM buggy.Nice work

@@arpadsomogyi4986 Right now I can trust SolidCAM and my PP so I didn't check external for around a year. the machine simulation is good in SolidCAM. But If you start with SolidCAM either use the 2020 version or wait a little with the 2021 this version is pretty buggy but with the latest SP it went in a good direction

@@BavariaCNC but the machine simulator dont simulate g code, right? So the linking moves are not simulated, or?

Does the machine oil the tap itself?

no i pre oiled it for the video, in normal production i just use coolant

Why do you use a steel tool for alu?

It is really difficult to find a good aluminum finisher. The DLC coated don't work that well for me, the "old" ZOX coated have been amazing but are not produced right now. And these steel are pretty sharp so they work well in aluminum as well and till now I am pretty happy with this solution.

Why do you use a tapping head ?

Hi Niels! I like to use those for my smaller threads (M1 - M8) as here they help me to reduce the minimal failures at the moment of switching directions when tapping with higher spindle speed. For bigger threads or small threads with lower speeds you don't necessarily need that,

that tap doesn't seems to take off any material.. weird size of hole for this tap.

no material is removed here. it isn’t formed one not a cut one.

He first drilled 3.1 at the top of the holes and then 2.8 the rest of the way.

the 3.1mm on top is just for end users to have an option to put the M3 screw in the hole before tighten it. But the rest is threaded ;)
