You can't really blame her, this is probably one of the worst moments of her life and asking how it would feel to lose their young children would set anyone off, especially in a situation like this

digthewarmth I agree or at least let those that want to speak come to you. Maybe talking about it and sharing would be therapeutic. But don't go ambushing or rush on folks that just want to be. It's not the time for that drama shot or ratings grab clip.

The reporter was caught off guard because the lady agreed to do the interview, answered a few questions and THEN went off on the reporter. The media sometimes sensationalizes these events for ratings, however, if no one reported on this event, how would the rest of America help? I completely understand that this woman is traumatized and she has every right to be, but I don't think it's completely fair for the rest of us to criticize the reporter for doing her job.

@thdremily7 жыл бұрын
In the reporters defense, she was just doing her job. People are interviewed at disasters all the time, cataloguing the victims reactions and views for the general public. I do think that this is a sign (circumstantially) that people actually do detest the media right now, enough to yell in their faces on air.

There was this local reporter in Charleston SC who would have been the first one to run up to a lady and ask, "Well your house is burning down and one of your kids just got run over by a firetruck, how do you feel?" I often though one day he'd get stabbed on live tv.

I'm sorry but when I first saw this I fell out laughing 😂😂😂 Now I don't agree with the language she used on national television but she had a point. As a news reporter, u should know who to talk to and whom not to talk to. Yes, that sistah could have said no to the interview but when u are in a situation like that and u start thinking back to what u had to endure over the last few days with no food or anything for your babies...yeah, u would have gotten pissed off too and went ham. Don't act like u wouldn't. That white lady just didn't know how to take it and that's what was funny to me 😂😂😂

Yeah. She probably agreed to the interview so she could tell her to fuck off. And it's understandable. Seriously, that reporter was annoying. After a while, they had enough information and could have helped, no?

People want to know what's going on and victims want to get help from far and wide but somehow it's wrong for reporters to interview in the midst of tragedy? You cant have it both ways people. Reporters are doing a service to humanity, spreading news and getting the real story from people in the midst of the story. They could be comfortable and safe at home or in the newsroom and then what would you know? Nothing.. SMH.

Reporting notes from a layman, CNN. Let them dry off and calm down before you interview them. That or go outside and interview the heroes that saved their lives.

In defense of the reporter a lot of them are coming up with questions on the fly. I work in media and keeping up 24/7 is HARD. This lady is clearly distraught she should have questioned personnel on their needs and what they are looking for. And media really needs to stop with the tragedy porn and be compassionate.

SlocketSeven Racism is too far, but I agree you don't need to interview victims to bring awareness of the hurricane. You can look at shots of the city to see that they've lost everything.
@SlocketSeven7 жыл бұрын
Why do they always show that kind of black woman during times like this? Ever notice how the kinds of people the news interviews are always the same? The media deals in caricatures of humanity. You know why that is? Because the media are evil and are the biggest racists you have ever encountered in your life, and you don't even realize it.
