Now let's suppose that same white woman shoots and kills twenty blacks who were standing at a bus stop. Not only is it murder, an investigation will be conducted to find out if she's affiliated with any hate groups. Her recently sent e-mails and facebook postings will be examined to determine a motive. If investigators uncover a bunch of racist e-mails on her laptop and racist literature in her apartment, she will likely be convicted of a hate-crime. It's not double jeopardy. Understand now?

Turns out, the weed smell was the neighbors. He didn't have any type of drug in his system. But, it wasn't on camera so the cops got away with it. Even though he was unarmed and the CPS worker said she in no way felt threatened and shooting him was quote "the wrong thing to do".

@cosmo babe: I strongly disagree with you about hate is exhausting. Yes, perhaps to the recipient of hate--black people in America and the world over; however, hate has been an ever-existing exhilarating pastime for white extremists in America. Hate keeps them alive; it keeps them motivated. There are millions of white extremists across the country who share the McMichaels' passionate hate sentiments of black people: they want to murder all of us, and if they could do it, they wouldn't hesitate and it wouldn't affect their conscience. There's no history of any violent encounters either defendant ever had with a black person, yet their hate for black people appeared to be innate, part of their natural DNA--passed down from their parents. At first, I thought it was taught, but now I'm wholly convinced it is hereditary. There's no other way to perceive why they hate black people so much.

The most unfortunate thing is, federal courts do not allow video nor camera, so we are deprived of their expressions during the trial and final verdicts. This is a rare case of justice being delivered of modern day lynching. May these three rot in prisons. I'd like to see the sentences to be served consecutively. One has to wonder what Gregory was up to during his professional life prior to that.

Furthermore, that was not the first time he had been seen on camera and the OWNER of the house said he had never taken anything from the house. Other people had been on the property, as well. The cases on these gentlemen are complete, now where is the "JUSTICE" to the two Prosecutors that refused to even bring charges? There's no way Jackie Johnson should be allowed to continue practicing law, under her GROSS NEGLIGENCE in pursuing this case from the start. It shows that under her direction, if you are friendly or she's knows you on some level she will bend the law to that side and that's a dangerous way to apply the law (doesn't matter if your black, white or anything in between). Waycross Judicial Circuit District Attorney George Barnhill (his son worked with the senior McMichaels); he automatically suspected Aubrey as a "suspected criminal" (his words), and wrote a forwarding letter stating that fact. He to needs to be under the LEGAL SPOTLIGHT as well. Whatever happens, neither should ever again be on the payroll of a State or Government office practicing any type of law. Educationally they may appear fit and just, however, MORALLY and LEGALLY they're both unfit.

Ruben it would be nice but I do not believe in this lifetime that love will conquer hate in THIS world we are living in? I know I’m just passing through here! I am not meant to stay in this world! 😇

we need to reckon with our history the same way Germany did. Love alone is not enough

Wish cases and sentences like this were the rule rather than the exception, but hopefully Ahmaud can rest easy now. The terror he must’ve suffered.

I know that it haunts me. How strong is his family to keep reliving that, watching him being murdered in broad daylight. But we have to be thankful they were dumb enough to tape it, too many murderers go unseen and unpunished.

@Randy Boone ?????????? Could you elaborate? I don't understand what you are saying.

His life was going to end badly regardless. He was living a high risk life. His life ending in this community was statistically low, however, his life ending in his own community was exponentially high.

@Randy Boone No one was prosecuted for things they said. The things they said were used to prove their state of mind. That doesnt mean you dont have the right to speak freely. It simply means your words will be used to either impugn or elevate your character and motive when applicable. This is not new, whether socially or criminally, we use people's words to tell us who they are and why they do things.

What's unfathomable is man's inhumanity to man. Many treat their household pets way better than this.

These men deserve the key to the city for their brave actions that day. The community is a safer place because of it. Thank you hero’s

@@rogerbing5314 The only key they deserve is the one that will be used to lock them away forever which will be thrown away. The community is safer without these racist thug murders on the streets. I'm glad you've shown your racism to the world. Now no one has to wonder because you've made it clear that you're a card carrying racist no matter what your race is.

Can you believe this case was originally to be swept under the rug by the original prosecutor. What's the status of her case?

Wow, if it wasn't for the family of the victim fighting for justice then I imagine the judge would have passed a lighter sentence for these three animals who stood trial for their hate crime. I just hope the sentencing reassures the family and stands as a warning for others who act so foolishly and recklessly.

It still boggles my mind how these three idiots thought they were doing something good. Thankfully, they were stupid enough to release that video, otherwise they'd still be walking as free men. RIP Ahamud, and my sincere condolences to his family and friends. A senseless and completely unnecessary tragedy.
