Robert renewed his law license the second O.J was being accused. Nobody knew exactly what evidence was on O.J until 2-3 months later. It is unethical for a lawyer to drop his client in the middle of a case, that almost causes an automatic guilty verdict for your client. When the bag thing became a big story too, I bet that was part of the decision for Rob to go on the team, they can't make a client's lawyer testify. This was a nasty situation for all parties.

Even if he got the death penalty, it would take over 10-20 years to administer not to mention it’s a lot more expensive to have. But he didn’t, he will serve the rest of his life in prison unlike OJ (not to mention Emmitt Till’s killers) who killed someone and didn’t serve any prison time I’m just saying that Ron & Nicole’s families as well as Emmitt’s had every right to be angry and upset because there was truly no justice or accountability in their cases.

It's not necessarily a no-win situation. Hypothetically, suppose OJ really were innocent and someone else were guilty, it would be justice for Nicole. If you were a victim of attempted murder, and you knew the wrong person went to prison for the crime, you would take it personally, living with the guilt that the wrong person is doing time for a crime against you. You would want to exonerate the innocent person even moreso than you would want to convict the guilty person.

We studied this case extensively in my criminal law class while I was in law school. Back in the early 1990's, DNA evidence was still a relatively new science and wasn't considered to be as nearly as conclusive as it is now. At least two of the jurors (maybe more) confused someone's DNA with someone's blood type. While it is very possible for two people to have the same blood type, the only way two people can have the same DNA is if they are identical twin. Therefore, the blood at the crime scene that had OJ's DNA could have only come from him unless he had a long lost twin. But a couple jurors thought that since many people have the same blood type, it was possible that the "real killer" just happened to have the same blood type as OJ.

I remember that day vividly. I was in the 11th grade, and went to a predominantly black school with a predominantly white faculty. That morning in homeroom, my classmates were discussing in anticipation. One of them asked for my input, to which I said that I think O.J. did it. They all ganged up on me at my desk and pounded on me, "You're supposed to be on OUR side!" The verdict was announced during lunch period. Almost everyone was equipped with Walkmans, including one of the seniors who stood up victoriously with his fists in the air and gleefully shouted, "Not guilty!" which sent the whole lunchroom into a cheerful uproar. After the bell rang, a bunch of sophomore girls were "Tootsie Roll" line-dancing down the hallway while chanting "Not guilty" in unison.

@lucashammar81808 жыл бұрын
I strongly believe he did it, but I do respect the so called "Reasonable doubt". The prosecution made big unforgivable mistakes, and underestimated the celebrity with great popularity who could afford big star lawyers. They thought they could easily win the case, and therefore wasn't careful enough. They didn't thought race would be relevant, but it did. These are the reasons why O.J. got away with the murders: 1. Johnnie Cochran played the race card over and over again to make the jury believe O.J. was framed by the LAPD. They were very unpopular by the African-american citizens because of the racial victimization at either the time or the past. 2. The defense proved that the cop who found the bloody glove, Mark Fuhrman, was extremely racist, based on voice tapes including racial comments said by Fuhrman. This made the possible frame more believable for the jury. When asked if he had planted or manufactured evidence, Fuhrman invoked his Fifth Amendment instead of answering "no". This surely made the jury believe he was lying. 3. The case has been described as the most publicized criminal trial in American history. It was also a very sensitive case since O.J. was black and his ex-wife was white. Again, the race card was played. The jury might have believed there would be another riot if O.J. was found guilty. Again, the fault was on the LAPD. 4. The DNA evidence was too new at the time and the jury refused to take it seriously since they couldn't comprehend the new technique. 5. The glove didn't fit. "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit". 6. The prosecution didn't mention O.J. attempt to flee the country. In fact, they didn't even mention the Bronco chase. 7. The prosecution didn't have the murder weapon. 8. O.J. only had one single small cut wound on his hand, which didn't really make sense for the jury. Committing such a brutal murder should result a lot more blood on the offender. Also, the glove didn't have any cuts at the very same spot as O.J.s hand. 9. Prosecutor Marcia Clark had private issues at the time and didn't have the power to fulfill her duty at the very most. (I think she even met with sexist attention by the public) 10. It might be possible that the jury was mistreated during the time of trial. This might has caused them to lose their respect for the community, giving them a reason to vote not guilty as a protest. If I was in the jury's shoes, I would have believed O.J. did it. But thinking of the faulty system and the lack of competence from the prosecution, it would be impossible to not consider the theories brought by the defense. With that in consider, it would not be so simple to vote guilty. The jury wasn't morons, they had the effect of the verdict in mind. If I voted, this is what I would have thought: Am I going to send one murderer to prison and let millions of life be in danger of possible riots? Or am I going to set one murderer free to prevent lives being in danger and hope the system would improve to not making mistakes again? It was all about "Reasonable doubt" that made Simpson found not guilty. The prosecution failed to prove O.J.s guilt. The system failed to help the prosecution to win. So this is my opinion. If you have anything to argue or discuss with me, feel free to reply my comment.

You are despicable, you weren't on the jury, so stfu, Blame the corrupt and untrustworthy LAPD, it's completely inept lab and that idiot Marcia Clark.

The jury are not responsible for this and should not be swayed by emotion. In fact they're often directed by the judge not to let emotion get in the way. The prosecution are entirely at fault for this falling apart, everything from badly preserved evidence to allowing the defendant to try on a glove. Truly an awful prosecution.

@@josephy4274 Nah the jury also definitely played a card and you have to be deliberately naive to believe that the whole Rodney King thing didn't play an effect during the trial
@D_238710 ай бұрын
@@josephy4274 the prosecution 100% let their emotions sway the outcome, because the only reason they said not guilty was because OJ is black. It's that simple.

I think in the beginning Robert Kardashian really did believe his friend and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I'm sure like most of us if we were in that kind of situation, we would never believe someone in our life could be capable of that kind of horrific act. However, then as the details emerged throughout the investigation and trial he came to the realization that his friend was guilty. There was a great scene in the show "The People vs. OJ" where he wrestled with his conscious of wanting to leave the trial but knowing that ethically as his lawyer that would look really bad and would most likely convict him just on that alone. After playing him in the series, David Schimmer said after all the research he did, he believes that Robert Kardashian never fully recovered from the effects of the trial and I believe it.
