I can understand the Karen's point about the taste of the American Chinese food vs real Chinese food from Beijing. I spent a couple weeks in Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou for work a decade ago. The local food was hands down some of the best I've ever had, and it was nothing like the Chinese food I've had in America. It was at very nice local restaurants, so a part of it might be more of 4 star dining vs 2 or 3 star in the states. I dunno, I'm no chef, and our local guys ordered the food for us (fish, duck, and chicken is what I remember most, but not how they were prepared). Conversely, for lunches during the day they brought in subway and papa John's to make us Americans more comfortable. They were absolutely terrible compared to the real stuff in the states. And I had a burger King burger in the airport that was disgusting. If you can understand why the American food was not as good over there, then I think you should be able to understand to an extent that the local food over there is just so much better than most of the "chinese" you can find in the states.

I personally do not consciously suck my thumb, but I have been known to when I'm already asleep! My big stress relief is texture, such as rubbing the edge of my shirt between my fingers. The feeling of the stitches and pills is so relaxing! I have an old old old shirt at home that is just the collar and t-shirt sleeves left! But it has the right edges, the right ratio of stitching and pills that can instantly relax me when I'm stressed to the max! It was nick named "Suckie" though I have never ever sucked on cloth! So it's a weird name, but man oh man does it work better then a glass of wine or an Ativan to calm me down! I do not need therapy, nor am I a child or child like, I am not insane ... I just have a little quirk that helps me relax and de-stress! Which is better then drugs, legal or otherwise or alcohol! I think using my quirk is better then getting an addiction!!! BUT I have never ever brought it into the sexy bed! I personally do not think it is appropriate to suck your thumb after sex! All it takes is to let your partner to fall asleep and you can suck your thumb without a fight! Just like keeping it in the bedroom and not all over the house! If you're partner is not comfortable with it, then keep it private!! Jeesh! Plain and simple!!!

@crisrodriguez56933 жыл бұрын
Yes. I think that a lot of people are just glazing over that. The bigger problem wasn't even the ring I think (though I do get that he shouldn't have shared it), but the jealously. She is jealous of his friend. That does not make her a monster, but sure is something they'll have to work on. And saying that you can't do whatever with your friend because your partner is jealous of them... I hate to be the one who says this, but... if the genders were reversed...?

Story 3: NTA. To do that right after something as intimate and adult like sex? She clearly has issues and needs therapy. I'd break it off if I was him, because if thumb sucking is something for "comfort", she's basically just implied that doing that right after sex is uncomfortable. I honestly would be extremely turned off from someone doing that, but for other reasons. To cut a long story short- I once knew someone who was into ABDL (adult baby diaper lover). That person was extremely manipulative and gave of serious sociopath tendencies. It was extremely uncomfortable that whole year I knew them.
@pequenaesposa32862 жыл бұрын
So you're saying you can't judge this without prejudice cuz you were traumatized by someone who was into it? Have you never heard of sex? The act of sex is extremely stressful that's one of the reasons it's fun, we like to be a little stressed just like when we watch movies or play games so a relaxer like a cigarette/doobie/shower/cuddle is what you need after a stresser. Thumb sucking isn't that ugly it's like having a comfort place or item, she is not responsible for having an extremely mild trauma response to deal with it. Studies show people who thumb suck always do it because it releases stress immediately, honestly I'm jealous that I don't have a way to immediately relieve stress and anxiety. You're just an asshole who doesn't respect others get over it.
@roukerasati96112 жыл бұрын

If I'm in a relationship with someone and they start sucking their thumb, I wouldnt get angry and lecture them, but I wouldn't feel comfortable in a relationship with them. Are y'all insane? Sex is STRESSFUL and I myself am addicted to my wifey and even I can admit that. Do you smoke after sex? Do you cuddle after? Do you shower or bathe after when it's not necessary? All of these things are relaxers, when you do exercise it makes you want to relax after no one gets hyped up to do stuff after sex unless it's more sex.
